The British are European. We are mongrels and prou…

I hear all this rubbish about us being Anglo-Saxon as if we are an homogenous race apart from Europe and the rest of the world. It is simply not true. I believe people do not really know what they are talking about.   We British are a mixture of races – mainly European but also with genetic input from all over the world. A short look at our evolution starkly demonstrates that.   The Iron Age inhabitants were the Celts who probably originated in India and came to Britain from France and Germany The Angles and Saxons (Jutes and Frisians) came from Germany and Denmark The Romans came from Italy The Normans came from France The Vikings came from Sweden, Norway and Denmark Through trade and Empire we took in immigrants from China, Africa, Arabia and Indonesia. The waves of immigration from the Huguenots, Jews, S…

You've Been Had!

A bill of goods. That is what this nation has been sold by the person of the current President of the US. We've been deceived, swindled, and taken advantage of by the administration as pledge after pledge has been negated by the actions taken by this President and his henchmen. And yet, his loyal f…

Ethics and Astronomy: On Imperfection

Christians are hypocrites. ....If you say," The man has a fault", We say," Not so. All Men have fault, that's why they worship the Lord" ...When scientists write an article for publication, do they hand in their first draft, or revise their articles and theories? Scientists make errors. .... T…

Sexual Players and Inappropriate Advances.

In light of the recent rash of allegations of inappropriate sexual behaviors of celebrities, I want to bring up an angle that the various talking heads are steering away from: How does promiscuity play into this issue?   Back in my oilpatch days, I was away from home a lot. I just needed…

A Brief History of England

Prompted by Opher Goodwin's article describing the British as mongrels, I offer the following ditty penned last year by my alter ego, The Darn-Poor Rhymer.   A Brief History of England From 871 to the Present (To be sung, by those with stamina, to “While shepherds watched their flocks by …

Hey, Hey We’re the Monkeys

OK… :) Bear with me… there’s a point to this story…   If you start with a cage containing four monkeys, and inside the cage hang a banana on a string from the top, and then you place a set of stairs under the banana, before long a monkey will go to the stairs and climb t…

The Joys of Jury Duty

There are at least two places you can go to that puts you fully in touch with your communities: The DMV, and Jury Duty. Of the two, I’d say that Jury Duty gets you much closer, because that includes all of the retards and patricians that are either too stupid and fucked-up to legally drive, or…

Popular Government Cannot Flourish Without Virtue

It is certainly true that a popular government cannot flourish without virtue in the people. -- Richard Henry Lee letter to Colonel Martin Pickett — 1786 Is there no virtue among us? If there be not, we are in a wretched situation. No theoretical checks-no form of government can …

The Disaster of What Basic Income Would Become

Although maybe well meaning by some, the premise of Guaranteed Basic Income would be nothing short of a disaster.  Currently in the US we already have such a program called Welfare.  While yes Welfare has prevented things like mass starvation it has built and reinforced generational povert…

Why GE is in such bad shape

The reason GE is in such bad shape is that Immelt was the anti-Welch.  There was a LACK of focus on being #1 or #2 in the market place after Welch left, and of course you can judge your "markets" wrongly but that is not what has happened.  GE and other major companies have rigorous ways to…

Christ Wants to Shatter Our Delusions

I am living in a fantasy when I view life as it circles around me. As believers, we sing and recite prayers that proclaim that God is the centre of all but our psychological makeup screams the exact opposite. I view people, events, history and yes even God through my eyes, judging what is right, tru…
