Whoa, I didn't know about all of this kerfluffle at WB until today. Ryan as overseer? Really?
We are living in strange times. People don't know what to think. It's sort of like during the black death when people were trying to figure out what was happening. Why did my neighbor die and not me?
I would hate to have God be given blame for all the bad that happens or credit for all the good. There are some things that happen that we can only pin on ourselves, but if we are truly spiritual we understand that behind the seemingly random and problematic events that rule the quantum realm we inhabit, there is a symmetry, a super symmetry that defies immediate examination. So intelligent people back off, let things play out, resist the temptation to indulge in knee-jerk reactions.
Most people live fast and loose with their facts because they see facts as part of an agenda, not an assessment of the truth. What the hell is fake news? In one sense all news is fake, in that it is not absolute truth, and is not claimed to be. But then we have Christians who claim that The Bible is truth, not fake at all, when it is the most fake news possible, because it's not news at all. It's a story. It's why news pieces are called stories, not fact. News is stories based on facts, or should be, not the Obama birther BS or any of that political twistedness.
Here's the truth, most people are willing to steal is they're told it's legal, even if they know that it's stealing. Most people who say they're Christian believe in the right to bare arms so they can protect what they love with deadly force. Most people who say they're Christian and are anti-choice believe in the death penalty. Most people who want to abolish Planned Parenthood think it's in the abortion business and not the health business.
Everyday the intelligent people who live in this world are confronted with a staggering reality, that most people aren't, and have no desire to be. What the Trogs want most is to win, even when winning is logically defined as losing. We won in Iraq. We defeated Saddam. Why does it feel so bad?
Trump did not win the election, but he is president. He is not going to win at president because an American president never wins, unless the game is called compromise. Donald Trump is likely to be driven insane as president, if he's not already. His authoritarian personality and the job of president are diametrically opposed. If WB needs someone to be a spokesman for openness and inclusiveness, would we choose Trump?
