I said no politics LOL

:-) Well, when we were young......but each age has its advantages. If I knew then what I know now....but well, that's an old one !

Interesting comment. That girl was the one I traveled the world with. And she's the only one I call today the sister I never had. We matched perfectly. But growing up to adulthood and being on the road for more than 2 years 24/7 kills the strongest relationship - or puts it on another level...

BTW Tom:
Write one ! Goes without many words :-)
Stone-Eater Added Mar 15, 2017 - 4:38pm
Yep she was probably the love of my life. Now she's as old and ugly as I am, but each time we see each other we have a party :-) And - she fought cancer sucessfully 20 years ago. At the time I was VERY worried !
She was the one who inspired me to get out and see the world. And I will always be grateful for that.

Marie-Claire. She's francophone Swiss. But grew up in Zurich like me. You see, I see it as a great thing when couples can part in peace and keep on a good relationship.
People who pretend love, live together and after all is left is hate are assholes. They forget the things that they shared. Somehow they throw away a part of their life.

Is your wife on LI or Facebook I want to see how much trouble you get in when I send the bit about her being as old and ugly as you are lol.
Shane Laing Added Mar 15, 2017 - 4:47pm
Sorry meant love of your life lol, confused? yes I am.
Stone-Eater Added Mar 15, 2017 - 4:48pm
Don't know. But she has humour, you know :-)
Stone-Eater Added Mar 15, 2017 - 4:49pm
BTW: She's not my wife. You mixed up something there LOL

Love of my life means to me love of the time of my life I live in at the moment. But of course the FIRST love that lasts (in our case 6 years) will always be special. So...yes....seen it that way she was the love of my life.
When you're young, you have no problems. Love is not overshadowed by daily struggles (It wasn't in our time and place). So you tend to romantize that time.
But as you know....memory tends to forget bad phases ... self protection ;-)

Great pics.  You have led an interesting and rewarding life, your own way.
Stone-Eater Added Mar 15, 2017 - 5:09pm
Guess what ? These are ordinary pictures. I don't even dare to show others I made during my travels...
Stone-Eater Added Mar 15, 2017 - 5:09pm
BTW: There is no other way than your own way. If not, you'll never be able to look back in peace.

I KNEW you're gonna show up LOL
Yep the last pic is my wife, married for 21 years now. She is the lasting souvenir of one of my first encounters with Africa - and I never regretted it :-)
Hey, I was an UGLY child, that's why I was the loudmouth of the class to get attention ! Which girl wants a kid with glasses and good school results ? I had to grow long hair, walk around half blind, smoke dope and get into booze to get a chick. Playing cool until puking outside the club LOL

Stone love the photos. It is nice to see another persons history.
Not sure I know how to add photos to the WB page I can add them to Facebook but they do make that for dummies.
How would I do it?
Stone-Eater Added Mar 16, 2017 - 8:05am
Just upload them where you normally write into the text field. Then with mouse upper left corner to resize if too big. Limit is around 3 MB or so.
Then just put a blank line under the photo, upload the next one, adjust the size..
The pics have to be on your PC.

BTW This does NOT work in comments, only on a new article.

LOL, yeah, I have some. Never much of a shutterbug though. The ones I do have are more of the personal nature. :) My wedding was the most photographed event I was part of in Thailand. They're somewhere on my hard drive......
I have some stuff in storage from when I was a kid, from the academy, different ships, ports, boats and anchorages various assorted and sundry girl friends. I should try to find them and get some digitized.
Stone-Eater Added Mar 16, 2017 - 11:55am
Just scan them and get them here :-) Would be interesting.

Some workarounds for posting pictures. If a picture won't upload try to copy and paste it from another source. I've been experiencing and found this actually works quite well from Medium.com drafts and I would guess otherwise (Facebook, Instagram, etc) just start the copy and paste from writing, then if applicable delete the text after pasting the picture and text. Another way to reference pictures, even in article threads is to post them somewhere with a URL tag then post the URL in the comments. This I know works well with Twitter pictures which always have their own URL for reference. I hope these suggestions help!
