Ride the Trump Train

My Recent Posts

Are you quivering, full of anticipation at the first foreign fling from the Trump administration? Are you waiting to see what follies will emanate from our glorious leader? Will Saudi Arabia recoil in horror after seeing firsthand the shallowness of the gene pool in which our President resides? Will Israel succeed in convincing President Trump of the necessity to hold one’s tongue when one is tempted to share the highest level of classified secrets? Or will the President take affront at being chastised, leading him to take off on a twitter tirade linking Israel to the lyin’ media?

Finally, we will have President Trump showing off his wondrous attention span as he attends NATO and G7 summits. Will his performance at these public venues result in someone finally declaring that the emperor is naked? After all, he’s been running through the rose garden since January without the benefit of a cloak of intelligent thought. I am embarrassed as an American when I see that any presentations intended for our President are to be dumbed down to single Powerpoint page, nine bullet points max, and preferably with illustrations. And for the summits, a request was made to limit all presentations to between two and four minutes. All to enable President Trump to not exceed his attention span. If you wish to see a vivid portrayal of the thought process of our President, look at any of his recent published interviews. This past week, in his interview with the Economist, you could see in full color President Trump’s boasting at being the originator of the phrase “priming the pump” with respect to economic policy.

Do I expect our President to be knowledgeable about macroeconomics, and about Keynesian economic principles? Do I expect our President to have some semblance of a knowledge of history in economic matters? As a matter of fact, yes, I do. I expect anyone who has the audacity to place himself in the role of the savior of the nation to be knowledgeable about the problems he claims to have the ability to fix. In his own words at his acceptance speech at the Republican convention, “No one knows the system better than me, which is why I alone can fix it.” But knowing the moral consistency of one Donald J. Trump, it is not a surprise to me to see that this was merely boastful bragging.

So enough of the citizens of the US who voted this past fall managed to vote for this charlatan with the attention span of a ping pong ball, resulting in his election via the vagaries of the electoral college. Now we find ourselves at the mercy of an administration careening out of control, with cascading news stories compounding the sense of despair emanating from the White House. Admittedly we have only second hand reports from the press (thank heavens they have not forsaken us in this time of trial), but the picture painted of the mood in the West Wing is reminiscent of Picasso’s Guernica.

But my fear over the next 10 days is that this immature, insecure, and egotistical President will wreak havoc amongst our allies and supporters. He has the potential to instigate unimaginable chaos outside of the US borders, where the checks and balances of our constitutional system do not apply. And those who are seeking to do damage to our nation and interests, need only to observe how to push his buttons, in order to make him overreact viciously to any perceived insult or slight. The reputation of the United States has been diminished in this century, but President Trump has the potential to turn a mild decline into the plunge after the first uphill climb of a roller coaster. Be prepared for one hell of a ride.

Yep. Finally some real action around the corner. I really feel sad for all those Americans which have some brain and have to see how the world laughs about the range of people you guys have in charge, be it Trump, Pence or some other weirdo (Clinton doesn't count for the moment).
We laugh, but it's a sad laughter.

Now imagine, Putin discusses for 4 hours on TV......and as I am told by a friend, he allows questions out of protocol.  Trump has to be careful meeting that guy LOL

Arab recognition of Israel would hasten Palestinian independence, while Palestinian Authorities ought to be trained and equipped in counterterrorism to break the cycle of violence and enable a two-state solution.

BTW: Bernie was a coward. When he had run for independent, he'd have won. I've never talked to anyone here in Europe or in Africa which would have favored The Bitch or Trump to him ! And the world would be better off.

He certainly will be the bull in a china shop on the first "Tour de Buffoon". I'm sure both his ego and constant requirement for attention and praise will create an interesting scenario with the leaders he will meet with.
I'm guessing we will see both some interesting and embarrassing footage from the trip. Hopefully the leaders he will be meeting with have been "pre-briefed" to expect just about anything.

Trump Acceptance Resistance Disorder (TARD) gets stronger in this one. Might be a danger to himself and others.

Bernie was a coward.  He talked about a political revolution but refused to lead one.  Trump will go and Pence will come and then the real fun starts.  Americans other than the 1% can kiss their ass goodbye.

Politics is a strange business, the people who are capable of rising to the top, are the least capable of leading.  Trump is the refinement of that process.  He has the ego and confidence to get to the top, the attention span of a 5 year old.  Interesting situation.

Probably Bernie knew that he'd get killed in case he'd have won, too. Wouldn't be the first time in US democracy LOL

Problem in having an OLD president (as Trump is) is also that a guy his age can say "Hey, fuck it, I've had it all, to hell with the rest, they don't have an idea anyway".
Better having a young president (or better, NO single leader) who has still some years ahead of him....just a thought.

Stone, until leaders around the world start having reasonable expectations about growth, and debt, they will all just be playing a game of trying to move the problems around, without really solving them.
Trump came in full of bombast, about how  he can solve all our  problems, and of course he  cant.   He is learning slowing what are the limits of what a President can do.  Voters around the world want to hear that problems can be solved easily, which is how he made it sound.
Part of the international problems we discuss come about, because leaders like to distract the voters from the internal problems countries have.  After all, if there are bad enemies out  there, you dont worry so much about failing pension plans, or unreasonable economic forecasts.

Come on you guys, I dont like Trump at all and he is a little on the slow side when it comes to politics, but you have to give him a chance.   He has a team with him and hopefully we all dont get blown up.
With Putin, I dont even want them in the same building.  Hes like a little kid who admires a Super hero when it comes to Putin.
I still think Bernie could have done something more, but your right as much as it pains me that he didnt fight harder. But he is a politician and they do follow the party line if they want a future.

Barak Hussein Obama  eight years of utter failure-eight years of promoting Islam day in and day out. Hussein Obama crippled our economy he had the lowest growth rate since the depression. Hussein Obama refused to admit the terrorist who attacked our cities killed people in the name of Allah.
Hussein Obama gets patted on the back-Trump gets bullets sent his way everyday by  media fake news leftist. The Democrat Party is nothing other than a Mob of Moon-Bat childish wusses.
Wsucram15-give the man a chance-BRAVO!!!

Geo Romey implies: Bernie was a coward.  He talked about a political revolution but refused to lead one.- Oh, you mean he was like YOU, Geo?  All full of ideas but never doing anything to further them past talk on WB?  I think Bernie has a lot more courage, and does whine nonstop about "not having a "worthy" job."  You got one now, so are you braver than you were last week?

Ah, Micahel. You recount your version of perceived reality of the last administration. Since it is your perception, it is your reality. Sad to say it bears no resemblance to the true reality of the last 8 years, but since you seem inclined to believe it, have at it.

EVEN A. Barak Hussein Obama  eight years of utter failure-eight years of promoting Islam day in and day out.- Huh, Duhlan?  That's an old WB rightist chestnut.  Must have been because he was both a Nigerian and a Muslim, right?  According to your Orange cock holster, he was...
Jeff Michka Added May 21, 2017 - 5:55pm
What is Duhlan gonna say without help from his Orange hero? Duhlan is just a(nother) mindless Trumpeter, full of sound and orangeness, signifying nothing.

Jeff the MOOK Michka;
Somehow you forgot to name all the great things Hussein Obama did for America in his pathetic eight year leadership. I get it, you know Hussein was a disaster.Obama's full sound-and Islam, ness was all he accomplished in the name of ALLAH.

President Trump won through the wisdom of the founding fathers and he will be constrained through their wisdom ( three co equal branches).  Are their blind people in America, is it bad if one such individual became president? We may think President Trump can heave havoc in other countries lacking our constitutional protection, but we forget, those leaders know they would be pulled out and burned at the stake by their people. The fool will be fooled if they think President Trump is a fool. Just as how he seeks to deflect the effect of the naming of a special prosecutor by tripping to the Middle east and other places, he will declare a war to deflect all criticism and to unite the nation. He is steadily building up the military. Therein is where we will see if the wisdom of the elected officials will trump the stupidity of Trump or if he will outsmart them all.
