Taxation Without Representation

Keep your promises President Donald J. Trump, August 7, 2015 on Fox News,  "private system without the artificial lines around every state... then you will have great plans, then you have to take care of the people that can not take care of themselves I WILL DO THAT THROUGH A DIFFERENT SYSTEM."  (the old Medicaid is already in place as a separate system and states have pools for pre-existing conditions patients that is a very small portion of the population)

Trump you can pull out your BIG STICK and demand the 50 GOP Senators and the GOP House Representatives keep their promises.  They are on the record putting a repeal bill on Obama's Desk that he VETOED.   This is what Speaker Paul Ryan said to the nation, January 8, 2015, "Obama Care law of the land is a myth this law will collapse under its own weight or it will be repealed, ...There is a clear path to repealing in the Senate without 60 votes.  Next year  IF WE ARE SENDING THIS BILL TO A  REPUBLICAN PRESIDENT IT WILL BE SIGNED INTO LAW. ... Can replace this with a truly patient centered health care system."  Recall this campaign promise of the 'leader of the fight' in the Senate to repeal Obama Care, Mitch McConnell, Repeal Obama Care 'root and branch' and not a replace.

Today SWAMP CARE proposed by Ryan and McConnell is still Obama Care.  It will collapse without tax payer funding it, all of it.  It places a Soviet style monkey on the backs of the tax payers that will be paying the few remaining insurance companies the difference between what they say is the price for the monopoly health care.  This is only a free market system in name only.  We will still have government written plans. What the public will not pay by arm twisting, the public or our children will be taxed, still pay, without their consent. taxation without representation.

The revolution has already started after the 2009 bill ACA ended that year.  Over 1000 Democratic legislative seats flip to Republican campaigning, promising repeal of Obama Care.,  The GOP controls more state then ever about 36.  Control of congress flipped, House in 2010 and Senate in 2014.  Trump road into the White House on the tails of this revolution.  We are tired of taxation without representation.  We are tired of the Declaration of Independence and the Original Constitution being treated as toilet paper by the appointed or hired Judges and bureaucrats.

Cruz Lee amendment to the Senate health care bill is in brackets which means the final wording can change,  and will change.  Also the amendment can be taken out in reconciliation between the House and Senate bills.  The amendment as written by Cruz and Lee allows insurance companies to offer plans not meeting the required coverage under Obama Care, that is still in the McConnell health care bill.
Report by the budget office that Medicaid runs broke by 2017 and it will be followed by other welfare programs like Medicare if they are not changed.  This annual budget report has been predicting collapse of these programs for years and Congress has done NOTHING.  The growth of Obama Care is in the Medicaid sign up.  The objective of Obama Care is to transfer wealth from the haves' to the have nots'.  Obama Care and these swamp care programs will collapse and what will be proposed is a single payer system.  Soviet health Care

Health insurance is the final component of the health care industry, why not deal with why providers are charging so much, causing high insurance premiums to pay them?  Health care should be handled economically, not politically!

The Founders rebelled over 2% taxes. Today's sheep are happy to pay ten times as much, so long as the natives don't get restless.

Dino M.  the reason insurance companies charge so much is that preexisting conditions is not insurance.  You buy insurance before you need it not after.  Obama wanted insurance to act as government funded medical care welfare.  It is a pay as you go program like Social Security is run.  Franklin D. Roosevelt said SS is an annuity.  Then he used the money put in the program as a slush fund.
To provide this service for government they required that losses and minimum profit be paid for by the government.  That is in the swamp and Obama health care programs, swamp care covers more losses.  The reason Obama care is collapsing is that the GOP House refuse to pay the guarantees that Obama promised.  The insurance companies are pulling out for this reason.
Already the small insurance companies will be squeezed out of selling insurance as we see already.  Thus we will have a monopoly situation where the insurance companies, less then 6 nationally, will set their own price and the government will pay it, we will pay it or have the debt to pay on our backs.  That Dino M., is the reason insurance companies charge so much.

The lobbyists for insurance and pharmaceutical companies and the Fed own Congress, the Supreme Court, and probably the president, too.  If you want to know why we have government-controlled health care, look to stock portfolios of decision-makers.
Medical care should never be top-down, because each individual is different.  When you have absentee bosses calling the shots, people who take no personal risk, you get a system that is long on cost and short on delivery. The health care crisis in the US is a created crisis by the money churners and asset plunderers who reap profits without risk.
The "taxation without representation" argument could just as easily be applied to other suicidal and homicidal policies that the governments (city, county, state, and federal) have followed since the country's inception.  If you think any of these so-called representatives and senators represent taxpayer interests, I refer you to back to the Constitution, which assumes taxpayers are federal government property.  It turned the Declaration of Independence on its ear, claiming all the "economic narrows" of the country and creating sinecures in government for the wealthy and privileged.

Great comment Katharine O., the solution is Convention of States effort to term limit congress and the judges.  Need to balance the budget.  We need to return to Federalism by repealing the 17th Amendment and again have Senators responsible to the State Legislatures.  We need the state legislatures have the capacity to reverse federal laws and court decisions with a super majority.  We need the budgets for all departments to be voted on congress every year individually and that regulations that have a large effect be voted on by congress.
We all need to go over the head of Congress and this convention of States process to draft Amendments to the Constitution is the only way out side of civil war.

“Trump you can pull out your BIG STICK and demand the 50 GOP Senators and the GOP House Representatives keep their promises.”
Trump has no right or authority to demand anything of the 50 GOP Senators.  He has no right or authority to demand anything from any American.  The fact of the matter is that Trump supports his health plan and has said repeatedly that the moment those Senators bring it to his desk he will sign it.  So your comments are best reserved from a handful of Senators that are blocking Trump from ridding our society of the individual mandate, as well as many other evils contained in Obamacare.  I hope you’re proud of yourself.  I know one person that’s real happy with people like you…Obummer.

Utpal Patel does majority leader Mitch McConnell and speaker Paul Ryan have there own BIG STICK that they used on mostly conservatives that have principles.   Presidents have been talking to the public for decades to get thing through congress.  FDR's fire side chats was him applying a big stick.  He has every right just as the other presidents to go to the people.  The people will pressure the congressmen.

Thomas, until the 1960s Social Security was an independent fund that congress could not touch, because it was the future of the American public. But congress could not stand to see that money, so like the spendthrifts they are, they took the money and spent it, promising, like so many politicians, that they would take care of it. Now it will be gone soon, but originally, it was not to be touched. So much for this government.

Spare me the crap about taxation without representation.  You have representation, you just don’t like the manner in which your elected representatives are doing their job.  I also don’t know where you get off saying anything negative about the Republican’s healthcare plan without also putting Donald Trump in your cross hairs.  Finally, a repeal only bill doesn't have enough votes to pass.  So the choice is stark, keep Obamacare in place or gut it at its core by enacting Trumpcare?  We know what liberals would like, where do you stand?
Thomas Sutrina Added Jul 15, 2017 - 7:48am
Thomas N., No I Will Not Spare the CRAP About Taxation Without Representation.  Swamp Care is not the replacement for the promises: Trump on Fox 8/7/15 or Ryan 1/8/16 or McConnell 5/24/14 debate.  The House and Senate swamp care bills were written and approved by the lobbyist first before the majority of the house members and the public saw them.  Regular order of public meeting to discuss the bills have not happened.  Supreme Courts calls this a tax thus Taxation Without Representation.
Katharine Otto Added Jul 15, 2017 - 10:55am
But the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, John Roberts, a Bush-appointed Republican, is the one who described the Obamacare individual mandate as a personal tax. So while Obamacare is blamed on the Democrats, the Republicans were complicit.  There is no representation when the Supreme Court, an un-elected body of lawyers appointed for life, has the last word in all legislation.
Thomas Sutrina Added Jul 15, 2017 - 12:52pm
The 109th congress was republican but only 55 seats not the 60 required to not get democrat consent.  So John Roberts is a compromise.  Thus the Republicans that has not controlled congress for 84 years has proven to be a poor at getting good choices.  Few GOP presidents did a good job.
Thomas Sutrina Added Jul 15, 2017 - 12:59pm
The did control both houses for 14 years and also the white house for 4 years of Bush's term.  That is it.  They are out of practice as we see from the Trump term.

Thank you for this article Thomas.  It may be that we need a new party leaders in the House and Senate. Until McConnell changes his mind on 60 votes, I doubt whether much good will come of the Senate.  There are some good Senators on each side of the aisle... (some but not enough).. I could write more on this subject.

@Thomas. "The revolution has already started after the 2009 bill ACA ended that year.  Over 1000 Democratic legislative seats flip to Republican campaigning, promising repeal of Obama Care.
Pipe dream with repealing Obama care. Was the improvement of Obamacare the intent or the total eradication of his name from the list of presidents?
Thomas Sutrina Added Jul 19, 2017 - 11:04am
Dr. R. G., the response of the public as measured by votes is clear.  GOP candidates running on repeal of ACA including majority leader Mitch McConnell is also clear, see only senate debate 5/24/14 for Mitch.   But as we have found out that the GOP leadership and much of Congress that depends on the leadership controlled coffers to fund their campaign, campaigned on a false flag of being "conservative."  Promises made by the GOP members of Congress presented by Speaker Ryan after Obama VETOED the ACA repeal bill, no replace component in it, is clear also, see national broadcast 1/8/16.
Know one can guess the voters response to the false flag.    I know the hope is that the public buckle and capitulate to the will of the progressives, the swamp of lobbyists and both Democrats and Republicans that want national health care.  That did not happen in 1776 or 1860.  I know as a progressive history does not matter to you. Each generation in unique with unique issues.  But you progressives keep reaching back in history to retry failed solutions,  schizophrenia.
How you came to the conclusion that the progressive Republicans want to totally eradicate Obama's name from the list of presidents does not make sense considering the false flag they fly.  They are lied for six years about wanting to repeal ACA.  I am sure that is no a singular lie.

Further commenting on RINO's Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell.  Ryan could have 340 Republican Representatives and McConnell could have 99 Republican Senators and they couldn't pass dog licensing regulation.  They were charged with coming up with a Free Market based solution to Obamacare.  We were afraid all they would do is come up with "Obamacare Light".  These morons somehow managed to come up with "Obamacare Ultra" - no state barriers removed, hundreds of billions in subsidies to insurance companies . . . WTF????
Those two have to go - they have no interest in "draining the swamp" while they are the "acting swamp lifeguards".

merits another observation.  As we speak Congress is "eyeing" our corporate and private investment funds . . . devising excuses for seizing the funds and "promising to invest it wiser than us and return it when we retire".
One thing you know for sure about parasites - when they run out of hosts to feed off of, they go looking for other hosts to continue their bloodsucking.

is spot on brilliant!  Justice Roberts was blatantly "legislating from the bench" when he came up with his ridiculous, unconstitutional ruling on the Obamacare Mandate - virtually rewriting the law himself so it could pass!!
