The Idiot Left, tells the world that the duly elected USA government are a bunch of incompetent idiots. Black caucus hacks promise that impeachment is imminent. Social media morons reinforce the belief that America is occupied by orange deplorable s, incapable of compassion, who are hated by the people, laughed at by the world, and soon to be replaced.

Why would ANY other nations government consider long term agreements with such a regime? The Democratic Party promises to prevent any legislation, from passing, and to disrupt government function. Why negotiate a trade agreement, that will be boycotted by Democrats and Billionaire company s .

This dogma is spread worldwide by what used to be the fourth estate, but is now a propaganda machine dedicated to the downfall of Trump, the man they spent $2 bn USD in publicity, getting elected.

Prof Ted Malloch, a former Oxford University professor now at University of Reading, added that the UK and US could cut a bilateral trade deal inside 90 days and that elections in Europe this year could sweep away the EU as we know it.

I know America because I have lived there most of my life. My culture, my education and my concept of Society, are all American. I know the world, because I built big pieces of it, and got to know the governments and people on a personal level.

I can understand America, because I have OTHER cultures to compare it with. You only know that fictional part of America that the media has presented to you.

I am able to freely judge America from Thailand, because I am free of the self interest, that those living in USA  constantly whine about. The only effect the US Economy, has on me is the exchange rate of USD to Baht. And I have no control over it! If the monetary exchange favors another country, I will go there. I control my life!

When American products are too expensive, as in Pharmaceuticals, I find a Thai alternative, sometimes German, or Australian. You in America, the land of the free, don't have that freedom. You MUST buy whatever the latest Medical Care scheme allows. If you go to Canada or Mexico, and buy your life saving Meds, they will be confiscated, and you may go to jail, if you try to bring them  back to the "Land of the Free."You are brainwashed by American media that makes you think, only the government can lower the cost of health care, while making it the most expensive care in the WORLD!

So Rave on fellow W Beaters. I've just had my cathartic for the week. Think I'll go down to the beach and have a few beers. It's great to be FREE!

The Washington Post's Mensa Invitational once again invited readers to take any word from the dictionary, alter it by adding, subtracting, or changing one letter, and supply a new definition. Here are the winners:

1. Cashtration (n.): The act of buying a house, which renders the subject financially impotent for an indefinite period of time.
2. Ignoranus: A person who's both stupid and an asshole.
3. Intaxicaton: Euphoria at getting a tax refund, which lasts until you realize it was your money to start with.
4. Reintarnation: Coming back to life as a hillbilly.
5. Bozone (n.): The substance surrounding stupid people that stops bright ideas from penetrating. The bozone layer, unfortunately, shows little sign of breaking down in the near future.
7. Giraffiti: Vandalism spray-painted very, very high.
8. Sarchasm: The gulf between the author of sarcastic wit and the person who doesn't get it.
9. Inoculatte: To take coffee intravenously when you are running late.
10. Osteopornosis: A degenerate disease. (This one got extra credit.)
11. Karmageddon: It's like, when everybody is sending off all these really bad vibes, right? And then, like, the Earth explodes and it's like, a serious bummer.
12. Decafalon (n): The grueling event of getting through the day consuming only things that are good for you.
13. Glibido: All talk and no action.
14. Dopeler Effect: The tendency of stupid ideas to seem smarter when they come at you rapidly.
15. Arachnoleptic Fit (n.): The frantic dance performed just after you've accidentally walked through a spider web.
16. Beelzebug (n.): Satan in the form of a mosquito, that gets into your bedroom at three in the morning and
cannot be cast out.
17. Caterpallor (n.): The color you turn after finding half a worm in the fruit you're eating.

Expat..nothing is imminent and you know that.  I dont think anyone reputable is saying that.  Just like anyone on the right is not supporting Trump 100%, they are hesitant.  There is no imminent or positive right now.
I will say, I am surprised and your continued attacks on the left.  While they are calling for obstruction, they cannot themselves obstruct, they dont have the votes.
It is the people, both Republican and "liberal" that are stopping the agenda now.  I have seen it and will be back out again participating in it very soon.  Although on the healthcare vote, the voter registry, and other legislation like the sanction bill, I have been very active on from here since I injured my knee and foot.
There have been times the switchboards at the Senate are down or you have to call many times to get through. Getting through a direct line is next to impossible. I just do emails now and except for McConnell always get an answer.

This and Donald Trump himself are causing the change in tide in DC.  Lets see what happens with the staff change ups, moving forward.  Kelly wont put up with Trumps chaos, but can a military man be a bridge to the politics in DC?   Not so sure, in the end Priebus sucked at it also, BUT he had an uphill climb.  Lets see how it goes.

That is why I called them hacks! Maxine Waters and

Yahoo News target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">reported Saturday that 25 House Democrats are now working on the bill, which has been in the works since April. The bill's primary sponsor is Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.).

I dont follow either party, in fact I disagree with the 2 party system but realize its all we have so I deal with it.
Expat..I did read it "the Democratic Party promises to prevent any legislation, from passing, and to disrupt government function." and stated nothing is imminent, agreeing with you, In PART but discussing the left. I can see the confusion.
Im telling you what has happened, first hand..not the news, first hand.  I just got my emails this week from MoveOn, Indivisible, my Senators office and my Congressman on where to report (they  knew I was out for 6 weeks) next week and on upcoming legislation's and meetings.    You think what you want.

Do you really believe what you see on tv? Really? Do you really think that the grandstand vote given to McCain with the  "thumbs down" in the Senate was real? At the last minute with McConnell standing right there daring him to do it? I watched the entire thing on Cspan2.  I really like McCain too...and that was done for good reasons.  It was cool...The Democrats had little if anything to do with that.

You look at politics through a black and white lens.  Its not how it works most of the time.  McConnell is the most manipulative, ruthless and powerful Senate leader the GOP has ever had.  Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell and their backers run DC.  Not Trump.
If they wanted or could get that healthcare to pass, it would.

The people are blocking this and 2018 midterms, it might even be 2020..but I doubt that seriously.  Ive seen some of the town halls and they arent just liberals screaming or begging for healthcare or about other issues.   There is a small base they have to talk to that doesnt give a shit about any of this and thats what they are going through all the motions for publicly.  But in various polling 78-88% of the country would oust them all if they screwed with healthcare.  Now they arent likely to believe the polls so people have been showing them in person, in faxes, by mail, email and on the phone.
I dont think "liberal paradise" has much to do with it.  In fact I know it doesnt.

THIS NOT THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY EXPAT..THEY DIDNT DREAM THIS UP, but they are hitching a ride hoping to garner votes.  I dont think they are up for the 2018 midterms, they need a revamp and I have written letters and spoken to my legislators about it.

But like I said, there will be some battles won and lost.  There is much going on that has not been reported and unfortunately lost as far as rights go.  But some things, also not reported on, have been won.
There is just too much happening at a break neck speed, its intentional and the news doesnt even keep up with it anymore. But sometimes you can hear a random news story that does not involve a Trump tweet and it makes me wish for the political news that was  politics, not drama.

Thinking about the United States, I am often reminded of dialogue from "Big Ones you can look at" by Aerosmith, when Steve Tyler tells a guy in the engineer's booth "I took a 'perfect' pill this morning". The other guy says "Yeah?" Steve Tyler replies "Yeah. Along with a 'suck' pill". Some people only see the good things about the U.S., while others only see the bad things. I try to look at the overall picture, often seeing it as it is- an imperfect country with imperfect people who try their best, that's a damned sight better than Russia, Romania, China or South Africa, or all of them combined for that matter. At the end of the day, the original idea behind the political system was to discourage the development of a permanent ruling class, and it's inevitable new administrations would have teething problems. The thing is, due to technological advances and pervasive social media, the world is more scope-locked on this administration than it was on others before and far less inclined to reflect before passing judgement, although Trump and some of his people ought to think a little more before opening their mouths or tweeting like twits. He's not really alone, you gotta hear some of the stupid stuff Jacob Zuma says...

Mircea. An excellent synopsis, and I am well aware of America's faults. But I get put in the position of defending against false perceptions and ideological dogma that is just  ridiculous.
Yes, Trump is a character.  But people got tired of smooth politicians who tell them what they want to hear, and then do the opposite after getting in office. The  justification is "You have to get elected, to make a change." So lying to the people is necessary!
Trump tells the ugly truth, that many do not want to deal with.

Where did I ever write that Moveon was not affiliated with or part of a politcal party? WHERE IS THAT?
But I pick my agenda and people that I volunteer with know that.  I have some very contentious battles with the Democratic party and a discussion or two, not that she listened, with its leader.

Now on the Capital Police...I have never been arrested, because I wont protest w/o a permit. I am always with a group like the ACLU, MoveOn..NOLA, the Actual Congresspeople and so forth. Even the Womans march had multiple permits. I like Indivisible and will attend specific invitee programs, that I requested an invite to, or I went with friends or family, but I wont go to a open protest because many have no permits and that is the easiest way to get arrested.  The police are respectful and usually so are the protestors.  If you go with a group and are a regular, you get training btw.  Just so you know. If you had any idea what you were talking about, I would address this further, but you do not.

Well maybe this-Although I must tell you, I have had many friends that have gotten arrested and stood up for what they believed in. Like the handicapped group ADAPT over healthcare, (i didnt know any of them). They were treated badly by police and some of them were badly injured.  Im sure you see it differently..but on that front I have really pressured both sides of the aisle on the first amendment and as expected the POLICE.  Myself and thousands of others.
You know our right to free speech and peaceful assembly?  So as usual, the police involved were reprimanded, if only for the removal of the people from their chairs.
Im just trying to give you an alternative perspective....I bet you hated the Vietnam protestors, even the innocent kids that were killed at Kent State because a couple of the National Guardsmen were scared.   As it turned out, the protestors were right Expat.

MEDICAL CARE IN AMERICA SUCKS
by EXPAT Jul 19, 2015 - 8:34pm
Medical care in Thailand is far Superior to the U.S.  I am a Type II Diabetic and require regular medication. I can choose from German, French, British, Australian Medicines or the Thailand Equivalent. In America you can only purchase ridiculously expensive meds that are approved by FDA.
Thailand told the U.S. when the issue of patent infringement came up, that if they could manufacture a med that was developed in U.S. at a lower price to save the lives of their own people they would do so under their own name, and to hell with U.S. drug profits. That is not the actual words but the gist of it. The U.S. drug companies chose not to pursue the issue in International courts as they feared they would lose and set international precedent.
So as an example, I take a blood sugar med called ACTOS in the US and Thai name is UTMOS. ACTOS sells for $ 3.43 per pill. UTMOS sells locally for 26.5 Baht or .80 cents a pill. Another example is METFORMINE. U.S. $1.00 a pill, SIAMFEST .05 cents. My total cost for 5 meds per month is $150.
For trivial care I just go to the Pharmacy, I go to one where the wife was trained as a Dr. but there are so many in Thailand she doesn't practice. I just show them my rash, or describe my symptoms and they give me meds. NO Prescriptions, no two hour wait for a Dr. no $150 office visit.
I also self medicate with German Testosterone that is illegal in US. to keep the boom boom working at 73.
If it is more serious, I go to the hospital and see a Dr. No waiting, no appointment, but more expensive.
Every year I go for a complete check-up. THis I make an appointment for so that I can do everything at once. I fast at night for the Blood test, first thing in the morning. Then I have breakfast and go see the internist Diabeties expert for physical and blood analysis. She reviews my Medication schedule and makes adjustments if necessary. Last time I was having trouble with my bladder, so they gave me an ultra sound test and went to another specialist who said my prostate was enlarged and checked for Cancer, gave me a med for it. THen it was off to the eye specialist who dialated my eyes and said I had some macular degeneration due to Diabeties.
Then down stairs to pick up my meds (included) and pay the bill.  Total cost for 3 specialists and lab work 8400 Baht or $254 USD. and 4 hours.
A few years back I had a torn retina and needed immediate eye surgery. I did have to go to Bangkok for this and Laser surgery was performed. I had the same procedure done in the US at 5 times the cost, and the Thailand result was better.
Emergency services are the same as the US provided by the Sawang Booriboom, and each hospital has it's own ambulance service.
People from around the world come to Thailand for Medical Service. No one goes to America anymore except the very rich.
I pay cash for all my medical needs and it is less than the deductibles and co pay that you pay. I had insurance for one year but dropped it because I didn't use it. Medicare will not cover care here. I will only go back to US if I get terminal Cancer or a Brain Tumor.
OBAMA care is an insurance scam that is sucking the life out of people. Care here is Superior to U.S. because it is AVAILABLE when you need it. No insurance preapprovals, no waiting, no prescriptions, no red tape.
This was a response to Samuel Johansen. But then I realised that all could benifit from this answer.

Just out of curiosity EXPAT, if you get sick in Thailand, how do they treat trivial care and how do they treat emergencies [ life threatening]. Do you get your "maintenance" care there and fly to US for more serious instances? Do they have some kind of health agreement with US insurers to get paid, or do you provide initial payment and then get reimbursed by US insurer?

Americans have no idea how unnecessarily expensive their Medical care is. And it is all because it is a protected market. To say that Drugs used in Germany for years cannot be sold over the internet or used in U.S. because they are dangerous is ridiculous.
The Affordable Care Act, quickly became the Affordable Insurance Act in order to pass the bill. Politics over real benefit as usual.

On a practical note, there is a Website you can try ... I have used it for medication related to Asthma.  The Website is www.planetdrugsdirect.com.  I looked up Actos - you can get 90 15mg tablets for 24.99; 90 30 mg tablets for 32.99 and 84 45 mg tablets for 35.99.  You do need to have a written prescription and they won't ship it to you until you provide them with that ...although you can upload it and send it to them that way.

Metformin Hydrochloride is the generic name so you have to figure out the non-generic name.  For example, if Glucophage is the non-generic name, then you can get 84 500 mg tablets of Metformin for $19.99 and 100 850 mg tablets for 27.99 and 200 1000mg tablets for 47.99.

I really like this site and have never had an issue with it.

There is a difference between better medical care and cheaper medical care.  People from all over the world don’t go to United States for state of the art medical care because it’s cheaper.  Similarly, people in Thailand likely receive excellent care when you factor in the paltry resources they can afford to spend on medical care.  Having said that, it would be a healthy change if America adopted many of the policies taking place in Thailand to make medical care less expensive.

The 5 best countries for medical tourism and overseas healthcare
by target="_blank">rel="author">Andrew Henderson | Jan 5, 2014
Medical tourism is on the rise, and dozens of countries around the world – from Asia to South America to eastern Europe – are getting in on the act. Agencies are being set up to promote less expensive health care costs to potential foreign visitors from developed countries where health care costs are through the roof.
And target="_blank">with Obamacare, this trend is sure to continue.
Like anyone else we discuss on this site, the best countries for medical tourism – or anything else – are often those you would have never thought of. Emerging countries have built great health care infrastructure while minimizing costs, allowing them to deliver care for as little as five to ten cents on the dollar in some cases.
Procedures that cost into the six figures in the US or the UK cost as little as four figures in these countries. All the while, the best hospitals in these medical tourist hot spots have highly-trained, English-speaking doctors just like you’d find at home.
So, where are the best countries to get that expensive surgery, the routine checkout, or the plastic surgery makeover? To be honest, there are so many potential countries that it was hard to narrow it down to just five. Let’s find out which made the cut…
5. Singapore
Singapore’s status as one of the world’s freest economies and a highly developed nation has made it a medical tourism hub for both Asians and westerners for years. Cancer treatment is a top speciality there. Gleneagles Hospital was ranked in the top ten hospitals globally by a health travel group, but many other hospitals offer excellent care, also. The World Health Organization ranks Singapore the best health care system in Asia, and sixth in the world. And while socialists claim that Singapore’s efficient, rather socialist health care model is a model for the rest of the world, personal responsibility is a key driver that keeps health care costs in here reasonably low.
You will pay more in Singapore than in places like Thailand, but the target="_blank">target="_blank">quality of life in Singapore is second to none. One US-bas

I didn’t read anything concrete America is doing wrong.  A tweeting president and a Left wing in resistance, is mostly just noise.  As it relates to policy, we finally have a president who is a friend to business and that has made all the difference.  Rather than looking for ways to tax business and the wealthy to fund more entitlements, our president is looking to move things back the other way.  If Trump didn’t pass one piece of legislation it would be better than the endless legislation the Democrats would like to pass that would harm our country.  And you make an excellent point, no matter what one identifies that may be wrong about this country, it’s likely worse elsewhere.

No Maureen. It is not noise. It is all consuming stupidity. While the legislative and executive branches argue emotional innuendo, real people are hurting.

America's Medical care is the most expensive in the world, and the worst quality in the developed world. Your educational system  according to Programme for International Student Assessment, ranked 40 of 72 in mathematics, 25 of 72 in science, 24 of 72 in reading.

USA economy increased by $2bn USD last year, but  the average worker makes $8.50/hour -- more than 57% less than in 1970.

Both sides want Mother Judiciary, to say who she loves the most.
While Americans fight over who is right, the needs of the people, and by extension, the world, go un attended to. I had to leave America, to maintain a good lifestyle!

I leave Europe for the same reason. But I won't have social security or a monthly pension. I work for my living there. But the difference is that my work is appreciated there. In Switzerland, at almost 60, you're just another old unproductive asshole.

Maybe, at 65 or 67, I'll get a minimal retirement money as a Swiss living abroad, given that there's any money left for that. But I don't think that far. I enjoy life as it is and when it will end one day it surely won't end in a hospital connected to machines for medical research....;-)

Stone. How are you at Home Computer software and hardware repair? I am no good and often wish for someone who will make a housecall. You could start a home computer repair business for no money, and could even use public transport to start, get a motorbike later!
Most of my problems are software generated.
Just a thought!
