The Internal Inconsistencies of the right.

My Recent Posts

The internal inconsistencies of the right wing culture warriors.

1. They are self declared anti-statists and believe in Liberty whilst simultaneously cheering on US government meddling/overthrowing/bombing democratically elected governments of other countries and pontificating on the lack of ability of other people to choose for themselves.

2. They are against 'crony capitalism' (there really isn't any other type) but will happily quote wild nonsense about how the big bad gubmint made the banks do it. Even though the legislation they cite (if they even know what that legislation is) had nothing to do with the GFC and never undermined underwriting standards (quite the reverse).

Same goes for any private business/plutocrat. Never ever guilty of anything. And if they did something it was the gubmint forced them to.

3. The USA is run by evil liberals/crony capitalists/deep state operatives/Fabian socialists/globalists etc etc etc but yet the USA can do no wrong, it is the shining city on the hill that all other nations depend upon for their security/wealth/freedom and their rainbow bathed unicorns.

4. Fascist governments of the past (and present) whilst clearly being allied with corporate interests, overtly anti-labour and anti-democratic are 'socialist' because we said so. Everyone knows that socialism is bad and capitalism is good, so if a government is bad it must be socialist.

So words have no meaning anymore.

5. Knowledge is bad. Have they ever read Marx or listened to/read a socialist, a Marxist, an anarchist, a communist?

Absolutely not. Those things are bad therefore they won't hear them.

6. The mainstream media is a liberal propaganda conspiracy.

But of course they believe them without question when they tell them that Putin/Assad/Gadhaffi/ Maduro/ insert evil foreign leader of today is the next incarnation of Hitler (who was the "socialist" who hated and killed all the socialists).

I could go on. The economic inconsistencies are mind boggling. Libertarians will contradict themselves in a single paragraph without any sense of irony ( another concept they have trouble with).

I remember when conservatives and liberals joined together in protest against the Syrian war.  I think the only ones who want war is Washington.  Both the Democrats and Republican in Washington want us to go to war.  This is not a left right thing.  This is big money and then the rest of us.

MPP the liberal/conservative paradigm is dying out in the real world. Its becoming those on both sides that either support the Deep State managed and controlled establishment (Ryan and McConnell supporters, Pelosi and Schummer supporters) or those that want a government returned to the benefit of people and an economy that works for the masses not the top 5% to at best 10%.

John G.,
I agree there is much confusion of over-used terms, such that probably everyone has a different definition.  I don't support US attitude, either at home or abroad, which is why I've essentially dropped out.  Work less, earn less, spend less, consume less, own less, waste less, and pay less in taxes.  Contribute as little as possible to a predatory "economy."
St. George makes a good point about "peace-loving governments," which is what some Americans thought we had, but it has become a lie.  Where are the peace-loving governments today?  What can we learn from them?
I don't believe the governments control the bankers. It's the other way around, and getting a government into debt is the best way to control it.  That's what foreign investors know, what the CIA knows, and what Wall Street knows.
John G Added Aug 7, 2017 - 4:53pm
KO The US government isn't in debt to bankers or anyone else.
Issuing Treasuries is not borrowing. It is moving assets around.
John G Added Aug 7, 2017 - 4:57pm
St George's 'point' is an outright Zionist lie. In surprised you've fallen for it.
It's exactly what the warmongers want. Your complicity.
There is no hope when people can be so easily led.
John G Added Aug 7, 2017 - 5:24pm
For the record Corey/StGeorge's slander against Iran is an Israeli government manufactured falsehood. So he is advocating mass slaughter of Iranians on behalf of his state.

#4 is certainly true. The right calls anything they disagree with "socialist" or even more laughable "fascist". This despite the fact that fascism is extreme right wing philosophy not left. And of course neocons like John McCain give outright aid and comfort to (Ukrainian) Neo-Nazis (fascists) like Right Sector (note it's not called left sector for a reason).
John G Added Aug 7, 2017 - 6:27pm
Indeed Jenifer. It is Orwellian mangling of the language designed to make meaningful political discourse difficult at best.
It is a mind killer.
Stone-Eater Friedli Added Aug 7, 2017 - 6:32pm
Thanks. That's why they call me an anti-American.
How stupid can people get ? But then: In the US Google and Utube are more censored than here (yet), and so-called alternative media are all branded as "conspiracy"....
John G Added Aug 7, 2017 - 6:37pm
Indeed. At one stage (not sure whether it still holds true) the UK government blocked more web sites than China.
There is no real free press in the western world.
We live in an age of global fascism. (And it ain't socialism).
Stone-Eater Friedli Added Aug 7, 2017 - 6:39pm
You've conveniently forgotten that despots and tyrants can be "democratically elected" just as easily as anyone else.
LOL. Have you ever seen a democracy which is not an economic dictatorship ? There ain't no democracy, it's not a part human attibute. Eat or be eaten.
We're animals, pal. No matter which -ism blather your spread around.
Fuck it, sorry. Forget those cover-ups.
John G Added Aug 7, 2017 - 6:43pm
Peter Corey aka St George is an apologist for the aggressive barbaric zionist state that has attacked every one of its neighbours at least once, holds millions of Palestinians in captivity and makes daily raids against its neighbours and constantly threatens war against any country that doesn't bow to its self perceived supremacy.
He is an inveterate liar, dissembler and sophist.
Stone-Eater Friedli Added Aug 7, 2017 - 6:44pm
Sorry for the typos. But that stuff is too hilarious. You can write n papers about how and when and why we do what we do -
study primates and you now what we are.
Now our "intelligence" goes bust.
Bonobos are more developed in terms of social life LOL
Stone-Eater Friedli Added Aug 7, 2017 - 6:55pm
People like McCain should be disposed of, just like Rasmussen or Porochenko. Parasites and idiots who are paid to say what they say or are blinded by ideologies.

Saint George, The right wingers are anti welfare statist's for the ordinary people while fully supporting welfare for the corporate elite state. It has become very difficult for the Gop to both support policy that favors the corporate state while trying to spin this policy as good for the average American.
Dino Manalis Added Aug 7, 2017 - 7:22pm
Issues are complex, but consistency is crucial for both conservatives and liberals!  They need to come together to deal with enormous problems!
Stone-Eater Friedli Added Aug 7, 2017 - 7:25pm
Are you a bot ? I wonder......I guess so, and if: what statistics are you collecting ? LOL
John G Added Aug 7, 2017 - 7:35pm
It has to be a bot of some sort but I can't figure the purpose. Pure annoyance?
John G Added Aug 7, 2017 - 8:00pm
Yeah, that's why the Koch brothers, Peter Thiel and other billionaires are the money and organisation behind the 'libertarian' movement.
Useful idiots. But dangerous idiots.

Autumn, "Please note, this article would be easier to read if you added some white space between paragraphs."
This article would be easier to read upside down.  Yep.  And more white-spaces.  In fact, if 99% of this article were changed to white-space it would make a hell of a lot more sense than it does now.  lol
John G Added Aug 7, 2017 - 8:34pm
Stockton. I didn't expect the extremist right wingers like you to understand.
It;'s about you. Not to you.
John G Added Aug 7, 2017 - 9:17pm
Peter Corey, if you wish to contribute to the discussion, feel free. But screeds of abuse and silly strawman nonsense will be deleted. Criticism is fine but lying about me or MMT to advance your personal agenda and spread hate and racism isn't.
Your choice.

That piece is utter drivel, Wilhite's. The sort of dross that drive the crazed culture warrior mentality.
Strawmen are easily burnt down. Actual arguments seem beyond you and your vile ilk.

John G, "It;'s about you. Not to you."
Is writing hard for you?
John G Added Aug 7, 2017 - 11:12pm
Typing on my phone can be, yes. No doubt socialism is the cause.
Saint George Added Aug 8, 2017 - 3:56am
Socialism is an effect, not a cause. The cause is self-induced cognitive dissonance combined with a hydrogen-inflated ego the size of the Hindenburg.
John G Added Aug 8, 2017 - 4:02am
Socialism is a result of democracy and freedom. That's why you despise both.
John G Added Aug 8, 2017 - 4:14am
Democracy inevitably leads to socialism. That's just a fact.
John G Added Aug 8, 2017 - 4:20am
There's another internal inconsistency of the right.
On another thread Corey claims that sectoral balance accounting is in agreement with neoclassical and Austrian School macroeconomic models.
Whilst simultaneously rubbishing it as nonsense.
John G Added Aug 8, 2017 - 4:48am
I don't think there's much doubt that Corey/St George is the brother.
Glenn Verasco Added Aug 8, 2017 - 6:25am
Libertarians? One or two of these might be worth a conversation with Libertarians, but the rest are you willfully misrepresenting what Libertarians believe and vouch for. You are a liar for trying to associate Libertarians with blind Patriotism and interventionism. Those are antithetical to what Libertarians believe, and you know it.
Who voted against the Russian sanctions? Sanders? Warren? Ellison? Nope!
The only Congressmen who voted against that insanity were Rand Paul, Mike Lee, Justin Amash, Thomas Massie, and John Duncan.
When you criticize Libertarian and Conservative thought, it's fine and valuable. But when you lie like this you show your true colors.
John G Added Aug 8, 2017 - 6:38am
That's just partisan R v D bullshit.
Glenn Verasco Added Aug 8, 2017 - 6:44am
You live a lie.
Everyone voted for the sanctions except those 5. You think it's a coincidence that they happen to come from the same ideological faction of the party?
You're beyond cynical. You're a liar.
Stone-Eater Friedli Added Aug 8, 2017 - 2:01pm
No matter what over there is decided. The US has no right to interfere in EU business relations which damage us Europeans, only because they want to kick Russian ass !
