MY GUITAR - POEM

My Recent Posts

When I was seven years
did not have many friends
my mother's songs I've heard
these bringing me to tears.

And then the day it came
when I did first remark
her round and slender body
that bright and shiny spark.

I took her in my hand
vibration was I felt
touched gently on her throat
did start to understand.

She did as told to do
at first it was not much
but slowly, step by step
her answers came as new.

As years were passing by
the progress that she made
whenever I had time
I made her sing and cry.

I almost stopped to talk
because there was no use
her voice is so much nicer
she never does refuse

expressing what I feel
my mouth is often shut
she gives me all I need
to do it, that's a lot.

And so much that I feel
would never have been said
without her being with me
She'd certainly agree

I'd not have come so far
without you, my guitar.

Not a new one, but you also listen to songs more than once, usually ;-)

Music joins people. It speaks to the heart.

Minors are major.
Can sharps be flat.
Diminished or sustained.
Out of tune does not mean out of place.
A new genre born or complete trash.
All to be determined by the ones who truly hear.

Ric Wells sez: A new genre born or complete trash. All to be determined by the ones who truly hear.- Sounds like a "normal ear" reaction to hearing anything by Karl Heinz Stockhausen.

Stockhausen seems to me like listening to a construction site...

Did and afternoon radio "fill"program at a local station in the 70s that featured Stockhausen, mainly so I could call the show: Karl-Heinz 57 Varieties.  That won't make sense to the Euros here, nut it was a play on an ad campaign of the day.
