THE NUCLEAR QUESTION? IRAN – DIFFERENT FROM THE REST?

My Recent Posts

The US, the only Nation to use nukes on a civilian population, has announced Iran is the next Nation in line for US orchestrated regime change because they might have nukes in 10 years.

In 1984, Prime Minister David Lange barred nuclear-powered or nuclear-armed ships from using New Zealand ports or entering New Zealand waters. Under the New Zealand Nuclear Free Zone, Disarmament, and Arms Control Act 1987,[1][2] territorial sea, land and airspace of New Zealand became nuclear-free zones. This has since become a sacrosanct touchstone of New Zealand foreign policy.[3]

The US was very upset and angry with this upstart Prime Minister David Lange taking a stand on Principle, and unilaterally declaring New Zealand a nuclear free zone. This was a bold challenge to US nuclear policy, like a rebellion in the ranks, taking an Independent position within the US dominated Western Alliance.

Although New Zealand was exercising it’s Democratic Sovereignty, the US downgraded New Zealand from ally to friend and imposed economic sanctions on a friendly Democratic Country for daring to deviate from US dictates. This was a modern Day variation of the old David vs Goliath story as David in little New Zealand stood up to the American Goliath.

David Lange

In 1985 The Ottawa Citizen published a little 3 x 3 notice David Lange was going to debate America’s most prominent religious leader at the Time, the Rev. Jerry Falwell at the Oxford Debating Union on the question of the morality of nuclear weapons. It didn’t say who was for or against, but I knew the American religious leader made in the image of the Americanized Jesus would argue for nuclear weapons.

I wrote a letter to Prime Minister Lange including many of my writings and Bible verses I felt would support his position and be useful in debating a religious leader.

I enclosed all the information in a large brown manila envelope using mail as it was before the arrival of the Internet. I was very pleased when he wrote back using such precise language.

Prime Minister David Lange vs Jerry Falwell - Oxford Debate

In 1984, as an individual, tossed my hat into the ring, paid the fee, registered and ran for the Seat of Ottawa-Centre as an Independent Candidate for The Parliament of CanaDa. Having no money, organization or supporters, I knew I didn’t stand a chance of winning unless it was a miracle and that didn’t happen.

That experience opened my eyes to see the only choices presented to the Canadian people in any election are the Party Leaders for the 308 seats in Parliament. They get massive free publicity every day of the election and all the local party candidates benefit from all that free publicity.

Even though I paid the same registration fee as any party candidate as a serious contender, the local TV would not allow me to participate in the only local TV debate, and many “All Candidates” debates excluded Independents who paid the same registration fee as party members to be heard by the voters. Our electoral system and the system itself is subtly and overtly stacked against any challenger of the Status Quo.

What moved me to run for the 1st Time in 1984 on impulse, was being mindful of George Orwell’s ‘1984’, and did it for the Spiritual, symbolic reasons as it is now in the Public Record.

David Bowie 1984

We are way beyond George Orwell’s ‘1984’ and it appears in Today’s world of power, to Israel, the US & the West, War is Peace when it comes to Iran.

Western news media never report Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran’s Supreme Religious Leader, said this on February 12, 2012,

“The Iranian nation has never pursued and will never pursue nuclear weapons. There is no doubt that the decision makers in the countries opposing us know well that Iran is not after nuclear weapons because the Islamic Republic, logically, religiously and theoretically, considers the possession of nuclear weapons a grave sin and believes the proliferation of such weapons is senseless, destructive and dangerous.”

He has been consistent saying the same thing in 2010,

“We have said repeatedly that our religious beliefs and principles prohibit such weapons as they are the symbol of destruction of generations. And for this reason we do not believe in weapons and atomic bombs and do not seek them.”

and in 2009,

“They (Western countries) falsely accuse the Islamic republic’s establishment of producing nuclear weapons. We fundamentally reject nuclear weapons and prohibit the use and production of nuclear weapons. This is because of our ideology, not because of politics or fear of arrogant powers or an onslaught of international propaganda. We stand firm for our ideology.”

Could this be because most people on this earth might agree with Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and more pressure would be placed on the other nuclear nations having 23,000 nuclear bombs between them to make a more serious genuine effort to negotiate the elimination of all nuclear weapons as called for under the terms of the NPT and inspire by example rather than by Dictatorial edicts pronounced on Iran?

Taking the Supreme Religious Leader of Iran at his word, I can see the basic idea and Spirit of his words are rooted in these ancient words and ideas behind them in the Bible:

But when you shall see the abomination of desolation, (A-bom-i-Nation) spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that reads understand,) then let them that be in Judea flee to the mountains:

Mark 13:14

Believing the God of Abraham lives Today, it is the Spirit of God that gives Spiritual meaning to the literal word. If one is to be realistic, the ancient Biblical word “abominations,” in the Spirit of Today’s world, means A-bomb-i-nations and the desolation that would be if they are ever used. (let him that reads understand,)

U.S. and allies agree: Iran does not have a nuclear bomb, may not want one and is far from building one

Anyone remember John Aristotle Phillips the A-Bomb kid? In 1976, while attending Princeton University as a junior undergraduate, he designed a nuclear weapon using publicly-available books and papers. Any terrorist group determined enough to build one can without Iran.

The information is out there and the Genie cannot be put back in the bottle. Iran has been under attack by the US and the West since the peaceful, non-violent people’s revolution and break from the past and the American installed proxy Dictator the Shah. Democracy was not for the Iranian people when the US had the dominant influence, but only for American domestic consumption.

The world has quickly forgot the US, British, Saudi Arabia and the lessor kingdoms in the Middle East financed Saddam when he was useful to them to start the brutal 8 year war against Iran in 1980 to nip the ’79 Iranian Revolution in the bud.

I could see Iran sees itself facing an “existential threat” equally as much and as justifiable as Israel sees itself facing an “existential threat.” If those fears are mirrored and magnified, the whole world is in grave danger.

I know the Holy One of Israel has Declared: Blessed are the Peacemakers, for they shall be called the Children of God. This transcends all notions of Judaism, Christianity, Islam & Atheism. Those Children of God are needed to be seen NOW more than ever before.

The last thing the International Arms Merchants want to see is peaceful non-violent revolutions happening in this world as it happened in Iran in ’79. That would put them out of business. The US is the biggest arms merchant the world has ever produced. The more violent the revolution the better for business.

THE DECLARATION

The Spirit of the Iranian People’s revolution of ’79 was rekindled with the Arab Spring that morphed into the Global Occupy movement in 2011.

Why single out only Iran when Israel has nukes outside of the NPT and it is not questioned at all or held accountable? Why single out Iran for violation of UN resolutions while Israel violates many UN resolutions with impunity and leads the charge against Iran for violating UN Resolutions? I applaud Iran for standing up against Western hypocrisy and double standards.

The NPT allows all nations, including Iran, to develop nuclear power, including enriching uranium. There is absolutely no evidence Iran is producing a bomb and it is only fear, paranoia and suspicion, standard essential parts used in peaceful nuclear power have dual use capability in producing bombs.

The latest round of US sanctions in addition to UN sanctions is tantamount to a Declaration of Economic Warfare on the people and Nation of Iran with the intention of destroying the Iranian economy. There are no more economic sanctions left to apply. The only step left is War and the world is on the path to the slippery slope of Armageddon. The people of Iran are being punished unjustly even though Iran is legally operating within the terms of the NPT.

Although Iran and Israel are bitter enemies, few know that Iran is home to the largest number of Jews anywhere in the Middle East outside Israel.

About 25,000 Jews live in Iran and most are determined to remain no matter what the pressures – as proud of their Iranian culture as of their Jewish roots.

It is dawn in the Yusufabad synagogue in Tehran and Iranian Jews bring out the Torah and read the ancient text before making their way to work.

It is not a sight you would expect in a revolutionary Islamic state, but there are synagogues dotted all over Iran where Jews discreetly practise their religion.

“Because of our long history here we are tolerated,” says Jewish community leader Unees Hammami, who organised the prayers.

He says the father of Iran’s revolution, Imam Khomeini, recognised Jews as a religious minority that should be protected.

As a result Jews have one representative in the Iranian parliament.

“Imam Khomeini made a distinction between Jews and Zionists and he supported us,” says Mr Hammami.

The temporal Zionists in Israel, and not all Israeli Jews are Zionists, have only one belief from the Bible adhering to it with the most rigid ideology. The words in that old Bible say God gave the land to the Jews, and the Jews exclusively, and to hell with what the Palestinians and the world thinks. Temporal Zionists treat the Palestinians in Israel and in the conquered territories as an inferior people, and continue to encroach on the very land that is the purpose for Peace negotiations, contrary to all the UN resolutions condemning temporal Zionism.

Iran’s proud but discreet Jews

September 13, 1976, The Kansas City Times records the Vision God opened my eyes to see way back then when the Middle East was not on the mind of the people like it is Today.

The newspaper records in these express, explicit words, “there are 30 months before the Fate of the world will be sealed with either Universal Brotherhood or Destruction.” The September 13, 1976 article records expressly this figure is based on “a Treaty between Israel and Egypt.”

Not 29 or 31, but exactly 30 months later, on March 26, 1979, a Treaty between Israel and Egypt was formally signed, The Camp David Accord. This Treaty confirmed and symbolized the possibility of the Universal Brotherhood part of the September 13, 1976 prophecy.

Personally, at the Time I was surprised The Kansas City Times printed and published these words:

“He came to town for the Republican National Convention and will stay until the election in November to do God’s bidding: To tell the world, from Kansas City, that this country has been found wanting and it’s days are numbered.”

For those who don’t know or grasp the significance, temporal Israel is a recreation from the Bible in this real, non-religious world. The words above are the 1st two parts of the 3 part Writing on the Wall story in Daniel 5.

The 3rd part describes the decline of the world’s superpower and the rise of Persia-Iran which also happened in 1979 in tandem with the hope of Universal Brotherhood implicit with the signing of The Camp David Accord, the alternative being War and Destruction.

As for the Writing on the Wall, the whole world saw it for the 1st Time at the same Time with the Global Financial Meltdown-Economic Pearl Harbour/Tsunami in September 2008. Global government deficit financing maintained the illusion of business as usual, but that illusion is quickly dissipating with hard core austerity on the way and everybody knows it, whether one believes in God or not.

The Signs of the Times are clear for those who have eyes to see.

Indeed. But people in the west have been conditioned to believe the polar opposite of reality.
It is Iran being threatened. And far from being a state sponsor of terrorism, Iran is a victim of state terrorism of the US,UK and Israel.

Could Iran Use Its $1.7 Billion Cash Jackpot To Buy North Korean Nukes?
Claudia Rosett , Contributor
I cover foreign affairs, tyrants, terrorists and democratic dissidents Opinions expressed by Forbes Contributors are their own.
Even beyond the danger that Iran could use its $1.7 billion in air-freighted cash to fund terrorists, North Korea’s fifth nuclear test reminds us that Iran could also use its U.S.-begotten trove of hard currency to buy nuclear weapons technology — or even the warheads themselves — from cash-hungry North Korea.
Congress might want to keep that risk in mind, as lawmakers debate how to address what appear to be two separate issues, cash for Iran and nuclear tests by North Korea. In an interconnected world, especially one in which America’s retreat has encouraged a rising network of anti-U.S. alliances, let’s take a moment to survey these two big dots.
One is President Obama’s $1.7 billion financial settlement with Iran, shipped to Tehran early this year in three planeloads of foreign banknotes, with timing that raises questions of whether it was ransom for American prisoners, and secrecy that raises further questions about why Iran apparently demanded the entire sum in cash.
The other dot is North Korea’s latest nuclear test, its fifth since 2006, and the fourth on Obama’s watch, following tests in 2009, 2013 and this January. This latest test, Sept. 9, was North Korea’s biggest detonation to date, and one which North Korea attributed to a miniaturized warhead that can be placed on a missile.
This becomes yet more ominous in view of North Korea’s brazen activities to produce both plutonium and highly enriched uranium for bomb fuel. Last year The Wall Street Journal reported that some of China’s top nuclear experts had told their American counterparts that North Korea could double its arsenal from an estimated 20 warheads in 2015 to as many as 40 by 2016.
While there is no public information that connects Iran’s airborne cash bonanza with North Korea’s burgeoning nuclear projects, in the absence of far greater transparency and detailed accounting from the U.S. administration on both fronts, it would be folly to rule it out.
Iran and North Korea have a long, intimate history of arms deals, including missile development. This partnership enhances the likelihood that a North Korean miniaturized warhead might be readily compatible with an Iranian missile.
The longtime relationship has been one in which oil-rich Iran provides the lucre, while cash-famished North Korea serves as an illicit weapons laboratory and backshop for Tehran and its clients, including terrorist outfits such as Hezbollah.

Expat believes the FOX News false propaganda "Iran could also use its U.S.-begotten trove of hard currency to buy nuclear weapons technology."

The money belonged to Iran. The US sold weapons to Iran when it was ruled by the proxy US installed Dictator, the Shah, before the 1979 Iranian Revolution. The US took the cash, but did not deliver the weapons after the Revolution. Iran took the case to International Court and won. The US had to pay with interest.

The only reason it was shipped on pallets in cash was because US sanctions shut Iran out of the Global Banking system. There was no way to deliver Iran's money back to them except in cash.

Regime change should happen from within and, hopefully, democratically, regime change from abroad is wrong and imperialistic.  Just look at what happened in Iraq and Libya.  We don't want war, but Iran's military sites have to be inspected without prior notice to verify compliance with the nuclear deal.  Like North Korea, the U.S. should stop most traveling to Iran, because Americans very often are accused wrongly for espionage.  Iran and North Korea are not hospitable destinations!  Visit more attractive locations!

The 2nd line from the Genesis of the OLD Testament reads, 'And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.'

After Houston, and the floods in Asia where over 1200 people died, with 43 MILLION PEOPLE displaced, as far as news presented to us, the 9 Americans killed by the flooding are worth more than those 1200 Asians.

Whether it's in the East or the West, people are in denial if they can't admit something is moving 'upon the face of the waters.'

In the Western Judaeo-Christian tradition, the beginning story of the Creation happened 6000 years ago as told in Genesis of the OLD Testament.

In the NEW Testament, the Beginning started only 2000 years ago, and that's why we mark our TIME as being 2017 years after the Birth of Christ.

These things say the Amen, the Faithful and True witness, the Beginning of the Creation of God;

I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot: I would you were cold or hot.
So then because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew you out of my mouth. (No more silent majority or sitting on the fence. Now that's TOUGH LOVE)

Because you say, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and don't know you are wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

I counsel you to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that you may be rich; and white raiment, that you may be clothed, and that the shame of your nakedness do not appear; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.

Good article.  I agree with John G. that the US and its arms manufacturers are the biggest purveyors of nuclear technology and terrorism on the planet.  The "divide and conquer" strategy works to keep everyone on edge.

I just finished reading "The Secret History of the CIA," by Joseph J. Trento.  The author, maybe unintentionally, pegs the CIA's role in helping to promote and spread nuclear secrets to every government who could buy or steal them.  Israel was a big player.  Behind the CIA's apparent incompetence and self-sabotage, I have to wonder if the arms developers and manufacturers wanted the secrets outted and fears fanned in order to increase demand and sales.

Thanks for your comments Katherine and Jenifer. In 1976 I walked through the Lobby of The Crown Centre Hotel in Kansas City during the Republican National Convention walking softly, carrying my big stick, and approached Senators, House Representatives and Delegates I identified by their name tags, as they talked in smaller groups within the larger group of Ford supporters in the Hotel where the President and VP were staying.

My approach was always the same, "Good Day. My name is Ray, and I would like to talk to you about some issues." For 4 Days, no one would talk to me, and they'd dissolve into the larger crowd.

Wearing my trademark #13 sports jersey, I finally took a pamphlet with a cover of white stars on a blue background, with an oval centre in red which read, Constitution of the United States of America, covered the 3 of my jersey and my heart, and walked into the Lobby walking softly, carrying my big stick.

For the 1st Time, what Convention planners call a "spontaneous demonstration" happened. A crowd gathered around me asking, "Who are you? What's your purpose, and other questions.

Republican Party whips descended on the scene telling me I have to leave the Hotel. Asking why? they answered, "you can't walk around here with a club."

The Hotel Manager, whom I met the 2nd Day of the Convention, after Republican Security physically lifted me up and carried me outside the night before, and buying me breakfast, told me, "this is my Hotel and you can go wherever you want. If they cause you any problems, call me."

I had to call him for the 1st TIME, and arriving on the scene, he told the Republicans I could stay. But they did their job. The crowd dispersed.

I walked away thinking, 'My God! They have the Power and they're that paranoid?'

I bumped into President Ford and exchanged words with him moments later. I'll write out those details of the situation upon request, or you can see them here.

This is what I and the stick looked like then. The thumbnail image accompanying this comment is current in my 74th year.

The reason Iran should be singled-out is because its leaders are clearly religious fanatics.  If one of these fanatics would gladly sacrifice himself to kill (think terrorist), what makes you think they wouldn’t use nuclear weapons?

Iran says military sites are off-limits for nuclear inspections despite U.S. pressure
30 August 2017

"Inspectors with the International Atomic Energy Agency, the United Nations organization tasked with monitoring Iran’s nuclear facilities, have not requested access to military sites since the agreement went into effect, according to experts monitoring the process.
The IAEA, in its most recent report in June, said Iran was meeting its obligations under the pact. Experts say inspectors rely on intelligence reports and other information to determine whether sites they have not visited are being used for potentially illicit purposes.

Last week, Trump’s ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley, took the administration’s concerns to IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano in Vienna. Haley said the inspectors’ reports “can only be as good as the access Iran grants to any facility the IAEA suspects of having a nuclear role,” according to a U.S. summary of the meeting.
Iranian officials this week blasted Haley’s comments, accusing the U.S. of fomenting a confrontation in order to withdraw from the deal. [Duh. What sort of reaction do you expect from an authoritarian regime with something to hide?]
'Americans will not be allowed to inspect the military bases,” said Mohammad Bagher Nobakht, a member of Iran’s nuclear implementation committee, according to state television."

Flexible ethics and ideology clearly.

A liar sites a fake news site that quotes the liar racist neocon warmonger Nikki Haley. Is that suppose to be convincing? Why not quote from a medium or psychic next time while you are at it Corey.
John G Added Sep 7, 2017 - 2:56am
Indeed. Haley almost makes the execrable Samantha Power look diplomatic.
That these heinous, psychopathic liars are being picked as diplomats by the US does not bode well for mankind.
I don't think the Nazis were as brazen even.

Look at the intolerant Jew-hating BDS-hole spew his usual puke of Fake News.

The Los Angeles Times propagates state propaganda? I don't think so. It's mainly a leftist rag. Still, it's more reliable than al-Jazeera and the pro-terror, pro-Palestinian-Arab hate sites (like MintPress) and other fake news sites you're accustomed to swallowing.

and shilling for war.

The only way to prevent war with an intolerant, authoritarian regime like Iran is by independent, 3rd party inspections of facilities that could be used to manufacture nukes. Letting belligerents perform their own inspections and then hope they tell you the truth about them is the sort of stupidity I'd expect from a vile hate-mongering BDS-hole like you, skid mark-g.

Um, shit-head, the west tried appeasement already back in the 1930s with another anti-individual-rights, intolerant regime. The result of appeasement was a little dust-up known as World War II. You might have heard of it.

WWII was organized in order to set up a Marshall Plan after it was over in order to boost US economy. Ask the Bush family and corps like IBM and GM how their friendshiüp with Hitler paid out at first. Von Braun and Oppenheimer also found new jobs for preparing Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Similar system was planned for Iraq, but it didn't work as smooth as planned, and Halliburton didn't get paid off really well. Iraqi mentality wasn't enough compatible.

Oh, and Iran 1953 didn't pay off as well in the end, right ? Too bad an Ayatollah showed up and replaced the puppet Shah ;-)

Inspectors with the International Atomic Energy Agency, the United Nations went into Iraq and the day before the US and UK attacked they stood up at the UN and said there was no evidence of WMDs but the attack went in anyway.  If the IAEA were allowed to inspect all sites in Iran, do we think it would make any difference to the US government what they said if the US had already decided to attack. I think not.

Exactly. The whole thing is a charade to terrorise Iran and justify US/UK/Israeli hostile intent toward Iran's independence.
Anyone who is awake knows full well that Iran has no nuclear weapons programme and never did.
John G Added Sep 7, 2017 - 7:46pm
Btw the current ramping up of hostility is almost entirely due to Israeli posturing and their overbearing influence on the US Congress.

I hope so.

Why would anyone with a functioning left-brain hemisphere and upright moral sense trust a people whose faith puts a premium on death, such as Arab Muslims?

Hebrew and Arabic are both the official government languages in Israel, and have been since 1948. Arabs are members of the Israeli Knesset. Is Hebrew an official language anywhere else in the Middle East? No. Are Jews permitted to be government officials in any other country in the Middle East? No.

Aside from Israel, all other countries in the Middle East are nothing but hotbeds of intolerance and tyranny, ruled by fanatical and corrupt monarchical tribes or families.

I would hope that the governments of such countries never acquire nuclear weapons.

Utter tripe. The Jews in Israel are hotbeds of intolerance and tyranny, The Jewish tribes are ruled by fanatical and corrupt officials. There's a new revelation of corruption almost every Day as the major Jewish Prophet Isaiah saw so long ago.

Your princes are rebellious and companions of thieves; everyone loves bribes and runs after payments; the orphan they do not judge, and the quarrel of the widow does not come to them.

Oh yeah Israel is a real pleasure dome for Arabs.

The world doesn't see them making a mass exodus out of Israel for the succor and comfort of other Arab countries. Want to know why? Because the only place where Arabs truly are 2nd class citizens is in Arab countries.

But wait! This ain't the old turd-breath skid mark-g. He would never have tacitly alluded to Coleridge ("In Xanadu did Kubla Khan, a stately Pleasure Dome did Decree . . .").

Holy Shi'iite. You're almost literate, Nouveau-skidmark-g.

Regarding Israeli Arabs:

Roughly 21% of Israel’s more than eight million citizens are Arabs. The vast majority of the Israeli Arabs - 81% - are Muslims.  Arabs in Israel have equal voting rights; in fact, it is one of the few places in the Middle East where Arab women may vote. Arabs currently hold ten seats in the Knesset. Israeli Arabs have also held various government posts.

Arabic, like Hebrew, is an official language in Israel. At the time of Israel’s founding, only one Arab high school was operating, today, there are hundreds of Arab schools. Most Arabs attend these schools.

The sole legal distinction between Jewish and Arab citizens of Israel is that the latter are not required to serve in the Israeli army. This was to spare Arab citizens the need to take up arms against their brethren. Nevertheless, many Arabs have volunteered for military duty and the Druze and Circassian communities are subject to the draft.

Industries like construction and trucking are dominated by Israeli Arabs.

How many Saudi Arabian Jews are in construction or trucking in Saudi Arabia? None. Oh, that's right. There are no Jews in Saudi Arabia. I forgot. Never mind.

But there are Jews free to practice their Faith in Iran as this article reports.

BETHLEHEM, West Bank — Israeli military jeeps came barreling down towards Jubbet al-Dhib’s first and only primary school late Tuesday night, terrifying locals who had been finishing preparations for the school’s grand opening set for the next morning. Soldiers shot tear gas and rubber-coated steel bullets as they cleared the way for bulldozers and flatbed trucks brought in to take the school.
The school, located between four Palestinian villages on the outskirts of Bethlehem, was built with caravans on a concrete foundation by local authorities and international NGOs partnered with the European Union, hoping to mitigate the myriad of challenges facing students in the area.
Israeli soldiers quickly cleared the area with crowd control weapons, and within an hour of the soldier’s arrival the caravans had been loaded up and taken away along with the tables, desks, construction equipment and everything else other than the concrete foundation, bathrooms and tiny chairs brought for the seven-to-nine-year-olds that were expected to attend their first day of  school the next morning.
