OBAMACARE- OUR THOUGHTS

Obamacare is a government initiated mandate requiring health care to meet certain standards in able to be sold to consumers. This act also necessitated health insurance among citizens of the US, granting those who ignore these demands monthly fines and eventually jail time. I, as well as the standard principles of freedom, disagree with this bill.

I believe Obamacare is a gross invasion of rights. The fact that the government requires its citizens to spend their money in a certain fashion or become a fugitive of the law seems unconstitutional and in contrast to the theme of our free country. If I chose to abandon civilization, living in the woods off nuts and berries, I would be considered a tax evading criminal and would be apprehended by the US government thanks to the Obamacare act.

Another flaw of Obamacare is the financial aid it provides towards low-income citizens. While generous, any money thrown around by the government originates from the tax paying Americans, and is therefore taken from us. I do not endorse my family’s hard-earned wages going towards government bail outs, and believe that all insurance industries, as well as many other government-run corporations, should be entirely abolished/privatized, leaving government to oversee the building of roads, schools, etc. as well as municipal justice.

In conclusion, Obamacare was an unjust and unconstitutional bill that was, in my opinion, rightly abolished. It both robbed Americans of their freedom and their hard-earned wage. By my reckoning, the only way to completely terminate corrupt acts such as this one is to completely privatize government branches like the insurance division. But until then, Trump has America on the right track.

Couple that with it actually being a $100 billion a year gift to the insurance assholes and it makes me want to get busy on all that brass that needs sizing.

ObamaCare needs market reforms, while the employer mandate has to be scrapped, the individual mandate needs to be organized like President George W. Bush's Medicare drug coverage in which people choose which health insurance they want, or none at all.  Health insurance is a good idea, but astronomical expenses have to come down across the industry with or without insurance.  There's a great deal of discussion about single payer, but the single payer should be the consumer with affordable health services.

Liberty - I'm glad you want to get away from having the government bail out those who get a benefit from health insurance programs. That means you will be very happy to declare the premiums paid by an employer for your insurance as income, thus triggering the taxes (federal, state, and social security) on these premiums that you are avoiding under the present system. I've run the math and for a typical middle American with a typical family insurance policy, you are avoiding about $4000 / year in taxes, thus resulting in a government subsidy that comes close to what is provided by the Affordable Care Act.

Now if you are one of the people who are in the individual insurance market and are unable to take advantage of the government subsidy from employer based health care, my condolences. Those who are above the subsidy levels of income are suffering under the ACA which is why it needs to be reformed.

I'd love to see how you intend to make sewage systems into a profit-making enterprise, by the way.

Nope. 100% wrong.  Taxpayers get their (tax) money from the government. Federal taxes are paid with reserve $US i.e. deducted from the reserve account of an LFI at the Fed, which only the government can create.
Please adjust your ideology accordingly.

Yet you keep saying that MMT merely consists of self evident truths.

Hmm, it's another of those mutually exclusive simultaneous beliefs that you've been trained, like a circus chihuahua, to be able to master.
It would be the lack of self respect that would put me off. But I've never been one for kowtowing to authority.

I have never posted anywhere in this site that MMT consisted of "self-evident truths." Never. Tautologies? Yes. Mere Definitions? Yes.
Self-evident truths? No. I never wrote that.

If you don't grasp the difference between a "mere definition", or a "tautology", and a "self-evident truth", then you're worthless.
