There once was a guy called Trump

I first thought he was Forrest Gump

but then I looked closer

and after found out

as deep as Trump Gump wouldn't slump.

There once was a guy called Macron

he did not look like a moron

being sneaky and bland

I did understand

only Goldman gives him a hard-on.

There once was a woman named Merkel

in jokes we're calling her Ferkel

which means little pig

but she wears no wig

in Arab that might mean some "-el"

There once was a guy called McCain

I guess all his life was just pain

A hero in war

a real superstar

but now that comes back to his brain.

There once was a guy called no-name

of 8 billion he was just the same

but since he was small

could not do fuck all

he was made the one who to blame.

The story of life is insane

the people we are made to blame

are mostly the ones

who'd care about us

we do elect crooks, still the same.

Do we trust them ? No. But we elect them. Why ? Because we have no other choice ? Seems so. We can't elect the ones who have the say. Bread and Games.

You're too generous Stone. They're lizards who nominally appear to be human.

SEF - we elect them because psychopaths and sociopaths are black and white and plausible. We fall for it.

Stone: If a TDG were implemented in your parts of the world, I would wager you have a good chance of being elected.

Huh ? Please explain !

May I ask what a TDG is ? I'm not so good on English abbreviations :-)

Cute..but they are dangerous and they control everything.  I dont know why though.  Its a mystery to me.  I guess respect for institution that no longer works.
Food for thought SEF..

SEF - psychopaths enjoy hurting others. Sociopaths the same. Because they lack empathy and compassion they are not conflicting by the effects of their actions. They don't have to take into account the feelings of others. They are also ruthless. Consequently they are decisive. They make issues black and white and provide solutions that appear logical because they do not take into account the effects on other people. People see this decisiveness as good leadership. They do not like leaders who procrastinate or vacillate. These people appear strong and appear to have answers. They get to the top in organisations because they are feared, are very goal orientated and enjoy the pain they inflict on others. They will deliberately undermine and totally destroy opposition. They live for power and are narcissistic and selfish.
The electorate seem to think that these strong leaders are what is needed. They get elected.
Unfortunately it is not what is needed. We need leaders who are caring and take into account the effects of their actions on real people and who try to make things better. We need leaders who use teams and consensus to get a broad view of action, who realise all things are grey areas and all action has good and bad outcomes.
Decisiveness is not always good. Often procrastination and discussion is better.
What we need are altruistic politicians. What the system produces are greedy selfish sociopaths who can be utilised by the establishment to maintain a greedy selfish system.
We are always fooled. But then, as John G might say, the system is not democratic. We are always presented with two versions of the same model to choose between.

I know.
Just had the urge to do some limericks. News headlines brought me to the mentioned "subjects" LOL

Perhaps one day we will become more sophisticated and discerning.

A very feminine trait. Embraced by academia as well. Hence the abundance of unreasonable snowflake SJWs people like DOHpher have churned out and set upon us.

Jeffry - a sexist misogynistic SOB as well. Not surprising. Neanderthals usually are.

Whether or not I'm what you claim I am it beats being a spineless amoeba like our prissy little HRH Head Teacher DOHpher every fuckin' day and twice on Sunday.

Ha ha Jeffry - you know nothing. I'm surprised you've heard of amoebas. Aye Aye - carry on Captain (Popeye or Bluto - or is it Bruto?)

Stone-Eater, a very nice sequential gathering of poignant limericks.
The world probably needs a double-LP limerick concept album...  maybe you're just the limericist to do it.

Thanks ! I let Opher and Jeffry fight ;-) Funny thing is that such conversations show that some who have lived what life means think differently than some who have other experiences.
I know from Africa that life can be bullshit. And I understand Jeffry's points. Many people in this world would do ANYTHING to get a loaf of bread. And then - it's not about policy or patriotism anymore - it's about save your own life when you're in an unfortunate place....

I'm not good enough to do more limericks - means there are too many political puppets around. It would fill a book LOL

opher writes: you know nothing. I'm surprised you've heard of amoebas.-Ol Capt Shakes only knows the amoebas his girl friend has....Don't take Capt Shakes seriously about anything, or simply tell him whatever got done to him in Seattle wasn't enough, and should happen again.

Stone-Eater: Thanks for your welcome on another thread. I too write limericks. Here's one, a few years old:
There was once a computer at Hadley,
Which forecast the weather so badly,
That they gave it more pop.
But with each teraflop,
It became still less accurate, sadly.
"Hadley" is the Hadley Centre at the UK Met Office.
...and you should never feel you are "not good enough" to do anything!
