I'm looking up

right to the top

and I wonder how

I can see grass grow

I hear voices call

muted they fall

through the layers

of dust and earthly smell

Darkness all around me

xraying tries to free

me from my thoughts

of no orientation

Am I or am I not

moving muscles which are

seemingly present but

feeling like they rot

Slowly moving backwards

in time

Feeling but not smelling

the slime

Causing me to notice

movements around me

wanting me to flee

but there's no way out

Is somebody there

faint voices I once knew

are floating to my ear

images of people disappear

Father can you hear me

Mother can you see me

Who is it that is entering

the space in between ?

My mind heavy rotation

how can it be

that I have no relation

to what's outside my mind

Stiffness or death

Mindless or mad

Absolute stillness

no movement, sad

Finally I enter the dark

thickness, not a spark

of light entering around me

A muted cry, and I realize

I am

I am not

Was I ?

I won't be

I wake up.

Heading from and to
Ashes to ashes
Into the wind
bound for nowhere fast

What is this Stone? Confronting the inevitable?
Neil Lock Added Dec 1, 2017 - 12:45pm
O friendly Stone,
You're not alone.
Dave Volek Added Dec 1, 2017 - 12:48pm
Ooooh! Very deep!
I can't imagine myself in some kind of solitary confinement.

Sort of. Getting prepared of eternal darkness LOL I was just inspired from your religion post. Hell is a dark and cold place and the only place we'll ever "see" ;-)
But until worries. I mean, my people go and I will too. There has to be room for others, if we like it or not.
The only problem is:
We don't know anything else than being alive.
That's the simple reason why religion exists. But we like to complicate things ;-)

Short but pregnant. We should think more of that. We're not alone. Even if we think so.

Blimey Stone. Nothing like depressing my mood lol. Cant you think of something cheery??
Stone-Eater Added Dec 1, 2017 - 12:58pm
I have a very morbid humor and am a cynic, actually. Just for a better understanding :-) That doesn't mean I don't like life, quite the contrary. I guess I'd make up a good Brit LOL

This is optimism in the year 2028. I'm a visionary :-)

Stone - when we get there we won't know we've arrived because we won't be there.
We won't be anywhere. LOL.
That's OK - make the most of this break in infinity. It's pretty cool. Make every second count.

It's the kind of poetry I would have written in the darkest "days" of our Midwestern winters. Except, of course, that yours is better.

Ok SEF, I can appreciate this. We are all getting there.  BUT TRY NOT TO THINK ABOUT THIS PART OF LIFE.
THINK ABOUT LIFE..and living it.  :) :) :) :)

PS I love that you are using pictures all the time now. Good call.

SEF, if this was a dream, see your therapist immediately. If it was a hallucination, back off on the pharmaceuticals.

Might I call you that ?
Thanks. I guess we know....:-)

I try - and whatever I write here are my feelings. I don't hide....what for ?

I'm close to 60 now. My body realises that but not my mind ;-)
Stone-Eater Added Dec 2, 2017 - 11:50pm
No problem. It's a ventile ;-)

BTW Jeff...
I don't do any drugs, not even weed.

My friends often call me Oph Stone.
I'm approaching 70. That makes quite a difference to your body and your mind goes slower too. I have to hunt for words sometimes. But that's OK. It's a beautiful world and I'm in it. One day I won't be.

Wow....70. And I'm afraid of becoming 60 next march ;-)
That Roy Harper song is a strange tune. I guess the lyrics are the important part....
opher goodwin Added Dec 3, 2017 - 3:55pm
Not 70 yet. 70 is the new 30.
The lyrics are very good. They are about making your life quality. The music was actually written by Dave Gilmour. It was a collaboration.

Short And Sweet Lyrics
You ask what is the quality of life?
Seeking to justify the part you play
And hide, fearing it incomplete, to try
To make it any more or less than short and sweet

But short, short is from you to me, as close
As we are wont to try to make it be
We're caught watching the dark in the sky, who knows?
Helpless as time itself to hold the time of day

And you, you are a fantasy, a view
From where you'd like to think the world should see
Be true and you will likely find a few
Building a vision new and justice to our time

And we, we, the immoral men, we dare
Naked and fearless in the elements
And free, carefree of tempting fate, aware
And holding off the moral nightmare at the gates

And sweet, sweet as a mountain stream, we'll look
Toward a new day breaking in the east
We'll meet as every future dream unfolds
And surely quality that is the very least

Stone - Such a beautiful haunting piece of work. I believe that when our bodies no longer exist, our energies will continue on. Glad you woke up!!!! Continue your beautiful are quite an artist. Can't wait to read the next!!!!

Thanks very much :-) You see, since I'm not American, and Europe and/or Africa seems not too interesting for a mainly US audience here, I often have to choose other sorts of writings than politics ;-)
