I awoke at six

thought I need a fix

to get my mind in gear

fatigue to disappear.

I did switch on the news

still in quite good mood

saw Trump and May and sighed

once more I understood

Sleep and dreams are neat

best possible defeat

against stupidity

of real life that can be

depressing, gloomy, sad

info can turn you mad

each day it seems the same

what ends that tiring game

shortsighted, stupid, greed

you and me don't need

to follow this damn race

extinction at fast pace

is what we're steering to

iShit for me and you

consume and do shut up

work 9 to 6 don't stop

Progress and growth we need

not true, it's simply greed

the good ones get it all

the bad ones do stay small

That's what we're being told

so we arrange, get old

in comfort, who did pay

for it with tears and cry

Not us, but far away

poor workers without say

which can't decide their lifes

but serve us and our wives

When all this ain't enough

it's time to get more rough

and start a little war

resources are quite far

Securing what we have

but what does not belong

to us so Trump and May

declare that we will stay

wherever we can see

some profit, we agree

keep watching our TV

life's beautiful, you see ?

It's six AM and Passion Blues inspired me to that :-)

Stone -
Stone don't go watching that TV
With nightmares of Trump and May
There's a beautiful world outside to see
Just have a beautiful day.

Thanks - same to you :-) I was just watching the latest Trump disaster about Jerusalem and thought of this.....

looking at the top photo something occurs to me. There is a portrait of Jefferson on the wall and the bust of Winston Churchill below. Ironic that they appear in a photo with two people, who if Jefferson and Churchill yet lived, are not worthy to share the same room.
Nice reflections Stone.  I have not watched the Infotainment Scam for months. The sun still rises

Sechs Uhr? Fur ein Mann der Freizeit? Was gibts? :)

I'm not a fan of Churchill either, but he fits to the two clowns below. Apart from that I'm not up and awake at 6 am normalerweise ;-)

Stone-When I first started my liberation a couple years ago, I threw out my television. I do however live in the snow belt, so when it got cold I got another. However losing it for a while helped to free me....free my mind. And I do also love my sleep. It's beautiful Stone...keep doing this thing, I'm flattered I inspired...you guys inspire me daily to be a better writer. Thanks again my friend!

Stone - no Churchill doesn't do it for me either. But anyone is better than May and Trump and his wartime oratory was extremely impressive.

No sweat. As Opher said - music is one of the best pastimes. And I've chosen Africa for retirement because Switzerland is also a damned snow belt :)

The heads of state who were integer didn't last....

Stone - you can't beat a warm climate for convivial friendships. Ice makes me mean.
Stone-Eater Added Dec 7, 2017 - 9:09am
Me too. That's why I love Africa. People still smile and talk to strangers.
Neil Lock Added Dec 7, 2017 - 11:32am
I too have given up watching TV at home. For seven years, now. As to Churchill, he was a supporter of eugenics. Genoeg gezegt.
Stone-Eater Added Dec 7, 2017 - 11:45am
Churchill, he was a supporter of eugenics.
Oh, right ! Forgot that.....auch genug gesagt ? ;-)
BTW: Just read that story about slavery in Libya. Friends in Cameroon (political analysts) who told me that 2 months ago on Whatsapp were right - finally now it arrives in main stream media.
Since I've arrived in Mali in 1995 family and friends told me of Arab racism in northern Africa and the slavery trade from Sudan trought to Mauritania. But that it's so bad I never thought. My brother-in-law worked in Tripoli while Gaddafi was in power, and he never mentioned that. Why....I don't know. He died of HIV 10 years ago.
You'll see THESE news will make big waves and affect all Arab immigrants in Europe who dared to accuse us of racism.....
One of the results will be more accusations against us in Europe because we don't let these millions of Africans enter anymore.
What we should do is stop exploiting Africa and supporting dictators there, create jobs. Then this shit would stop almost immediately. I keep telling this since 1995 with no result, whether I talked to Swiss government or others. Jean Ziegler has been pointing that out for 40 years....

Stone - that is right. We need to get out of interfering. We stir up shit.
Stone-Eater Added Dec 7, 2017 - 12:40pm
WE don't. The governments which are voted in BY US do. Are we senile ? He, Mr. Alzheimer ? Saw a documentary about this today:
..and one sentence stayed: "The difference between China and the US is that capital doesn't control politics."
Whether it's true or not I can't judge really. But it seems so. No other country has undergone such fundamental societal changes as China - quite the contrary to the US.
Stone-Eater Added Dec 7, 2017 - 12:43pm
We stir up shit because WE CAN. If not us, others will. Human genome. We're the two sides of the coin. Stupid and intellectual at the same time. Depending on situation and circumstances.
Tubularsock Added Dec 7, 2017 - 9:16pm
SEF, great poem and well stated. Tubularsock hasn't had a TV for 40 plus years. Just couldn't do it any longer so I dumped it. Now Tubularsock can't even stand to hear it's tone drone on if I pass one in a lobby.
There is just something wrong with the wave pattern coming out of them.
So now I don't go into lobbies. Cheers.

There seem to be quite a few here who don't need that blather machine :-)
