Trumpled Underfoot?

My Recent Posts

One of the most famous and everlasting icons of that slimy, disgusting, and desperate town called Hollywood, U.S.A. is that slimy, disgusting, and desperate series of small monuments that line both sides of certain sections of Hollywood Boulevard also known as the Hollywood Walk of Fame!

I remember some comedian in the early 80's commenting about the latest addition to that pantheon of talent:

"They went from the gutter to the sidewalk! So fucking what!"

If I had a penny for every time that me, someone I know, and/or perfect strangers let out their true feelings toward a "star" who was right where they wanted them, I'd have had my own swank pad in Beverly Hills for some years now. The things I both witnessed and participated in ranged from intense verbal abuse and rude gestures, to the "coating" of the target star with various liquid, solid, semi-liquid and semi-solid excrement produced by every orifice imaginable.

From what I understand, in the Muslim world, among the rudest gestures one can make toward others is to show them the bottom of one's feet and/or the soles of one's shoes. The preponderance of U.S. and Israeli flags stenciled onto numerous sidewalks and streets in the greater Middle East for all of their respective haters to gleefully stomp on is not-so-mute evidence of this.

So, rather than having Trump's "star" removed, why don't they capitalize on it and leave it right where it is? Then they can replace the panhandlers, cosplayers, beggars, prostitutes, transients, and dumb-ass fucking tourists with...wait a minute...panhandlers, cosplayers, beggars, prostitutes, transients, and dumb-ass fucking tourists who will PAY FOR THE PRIVILEGE of STOMPING ON TRUMP!!!! I see a theme-park idea forming...call it a Disneyland of Discord!

Some of the games and rides that such a park would have, for everybody to enjoy, including old people, kids, and pets:

FOR THE LEFT:

Pin the "Black Tail of Shame" on Mr. and Mrs. Whitey Guilt. Blindfolds are strictly forbidden.

Instead of "The Tunnel of Love", "The Tunnel of Hating White Devils."

A "Policeman-as-a-Pinata" game - once again, blindfolds are strictly forbidden.

FOR THE RIGHT:

"Pilates of the Caribbean" - Allow an entire island and its people to drown unless they repent and accept JC as their Lord and Savior. Hand-washings are also optional.

"Stand Your Ground" shooting gallery - Win a doll, or at least the sympathy of the jury!

The "E-Ticket Ride" - This isn't a "Get Out of Jail for Free" card, it's actually the total opposite, with the "E" standing for "Extraordinary Rendition", which is like a combination of "E-Tickets" everywhere that fun things like waterboarding and the Malaysian Chest Implosion Torture are part of the fun!

Something afoot here.  Where are the politicians?  Maybe we can line them up and everytime someone (w)rings their neck they get a prize.

Trump earned his star, they should ask Melania and Ivanka if they're treated well, Trump is our president whether we like him or not.

Thats right MichaelB..you live out there..
Is it still that slimy?   I have not been for some time, but I was shocked how dirty and run down it was.
Someone will pay to fix it...you know they will, although this is the ever important midterms, as Nunes has so critically outlined in his speech.
Man what a group of miscreants, all of them.

"Disneyland of Discord". Too funny!  This country has descended into a three-ring-circus!  Disneyland of Discord from Sea to Shining Sea!

@ Stone - I was hoping somebody would get the LZ reference, and you didn't disappoint, lol! The LZ title was an afterthought though.

@ Leroy - Funny, I had some ideas along those lines and was about to commit to something that I thought would be entertaining, until I heard about someone with similar ideas who was several steps ahead of me and got several "visits" by several law enforcement agencies. Call me whatever you want to, but the LAST thing I need in my life now is that kind of attention. I'll wait a little longer, lol.

@ Dino - Dino, I couldn't have possibly gotten a better comment from you than if I drilled a hole in your head and filled it up with Milk Duds, lol.

@ Jeanne - It's kind of cleaned up over the years since the nadir of the 70's and early 80's. They usually try to steer the tourists toward the Universal Citywalk, but to me, there's no substitute for Hollyweird! They have all of those stupid fucking cosplayers now, but back in the day, they had interesting people like Hefty Man (because of his Karl Lagerfeld-like skills in dressing up in Hefty trash bags), Duct Man (because he created outfits from ducting, with copious amounts of duct tape, of course), and my all-time favorite, Eddie Van Airguitar, who would alternate between a normal broom for normal jams, but whenever he needed that higher "turned-up-to-11" pitch, he would break out...a whisk broom, which had its own small case, lol!

Out of morbid curiosity, did Ronald Reagan have a star and how was it treated?

Between VMI and 50months in 3d Armor DivArty (2-27 FA and HHB, DivArty),  I missed the Reagan years.
Michael B. Added Aug 10, 2018 - 8:46pm
@ John M. - I think RR's star got very similar treatment as some others as described in my post, but nothing like Trump's; but then again, they aren't exactly an apple-to-apple comparison!

I still very distinctly remember the static I got from Germans and others while I was in Europe, saying RR was a warmonger and that we are "defending Europe to death." Like many others out there, I bet they're pining for the "good old days" of the Cold War, when instead of a jungle filled with poisonous snakes, there was only a giant dragon or two to slay.

Looks like Reagan was the first President and first California governor to have a star, although of course he had a long acting career since. I wasn't able to find anything about his star being vandalized, although it was the spot of small protests from time to time.

I remember the young Germans, especially, were upset about Pershing II.  There was graffiti on one bridge which read, "Pershing, Nein!"

I always thought, "Wow!  Just like my preference statement when I found out I was being Commissioned in Artillery."

@ Jeanne - Jeanne, I define PC-ness as "someone who is offended on behalf of someone else who either isn't as offended, or often doesn't give a shit." You are among the most PC people here, but I still like you anyway, lol.

@ Mark - Yes, that sums it up!
Michael B. Added Aug 11, 2018 - 11:50am
@ John M. - I knew someone who was a 64C in a Pershing battery in the late 70's, and judging from his stories, most Americans and many others around the world wouldn't have felt very good about what he had to say. Of course, the entire U.S. military was pretty much wrecked at that time.

We got a couple of protests at Ayers Kaserne, but they were mostly anti-nuke, as opposed to anti-American. We didn't have any nukes there that I was aware of, but I know Giessen Depot did; indeed, it was attacked by the RAF in the late 70's for that very reason.
