GODDESS ARETHA!

My Recent Posts

Much more than just "A Natural Woman" was she and talk about R E S P E C T earned, wow Milady did it ALL, cheers!

https://youtu.be/XHsnZT7Z2yQ

SOO GLAD SHE GOT HER AUDIENCE WITH THE FIRST BLACK PRESIDENT.

MUST HAVE MADE HER MOMENT THAT MUCH MORE PROFOUND SINCE HER FATHER WORKED WITH "THE KING" MLK, DURING CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT.

SHE WAS A CURIOUS GIFTED CHILD  WHO AT AGE 5 PLAYED PIANO WHILE BELTING OUT GOSPEL SONGS WE HAVE BEEN TOLD

LOL, LATER AWARDED AN HONORARY HARVARD DIPLOMA. SEEMS SHE LOVED READING BUSINESS TEXTS FROM THAT COLLEGE.

AMAZING WOMAN, AMAZING GRACE, AMAZING BLACKNESS, AMAZING HUMAN

WE WILL NEVER FORGET YOU GODESS.

OOPS!

THEY GAVE YOU "QUEEN OF SOUL" CROWN BUT YOU ARE MY GODESS ALONG WITH OTHER ARTISTS WHO MOVE WHAT CAN ONLY BE DESCRIBED AS "SPIRITUAL EMOTION"

Such a shame that the small group of White Supremacists miss all the great life experiences that happen to be performed by people of color. Never mind that today as memory will be ALL about you

and we wont be inundated by a crazy Con man. Even in death you were able to get media attention

away from the "Greatest Show on Earth" just to immortalize your works. SEE GODDESS DOES FIT. Worshipped woman "AT LAST" lol, Etta had hers also.

Guess your sense if humor helped greatly during those times of challenge Milady Aretha.

Goodnight Goddess!

Enjoy that peaceful rest also called heaven by yourself.

Cheers,

~The Bug~

Aretha was the best!  When I was fifteen, a bunch of us kids in Music class, (basically guitar class plus pianos!) learned, R-E-S-P-E-C-T.  Many we had a ball pounding it out and the chicks belting the lyric.

I was watching one of those music biopics, apparently CBS had her contract singing mostly gospel since 1957, (I saw an old album sleeve once in the thrift shop.)  Her career was stagnant.  I can't remember who it was, but another producer purchased her contract and her career just exploded!  One of my favorites is her version of, "I Heard it Through the Grapevine."

My Aretha moment:  "Blues Brothers,"  Jake and Elwood,  just off Maxwell street, and trying to get some "plain white toast," and "three fried chickens and a coke."

The first time I really noticed her was in "Blues Brothers", and right from that moment I recognized what so many others already had: her basic awesomeness. What a great entertainer.

Aretha was an example for all of us to mimic with peace and respect.

Aretha was feisty and brilliant. She stood for civil and women's rights. Good for her!

Please note, it's against the rules to post more than one article within 48-hours.

Autumn,
WHAT other article had I posted?
I can not understand why drafts are multiplied, my photo choice creates Microsoft inquiry EVERYTIME and I must approve site knowledge they claim highly suspicious.
I choose to take chance and mingle here but perhaps there are more risks than I am aware of?

Please let me know what you recommend, considering you think I
chose to break a rule and I think perhaps I am lost here.
Sincerely,
~The Bug~

I agree Jeff. The Blues Brothers is one of my all time favorite musical films. I suggest that people who haven't watched it to see it. We have lost The Godfather of Soul James Brown, The King of Pop Michael Jackson, his Royal Badness Prince, The Princess of Pop Whitney Houston, and now The Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin.

Please note, we have two nasty bugs affecting the site.  The first is that the publish icon appears to be not working but it actually works.  So you're not the first to accidentally post several of the same article.  To stop doing it, simply press the button once.  The second is that I can't delete articles.  You can put articles on draft, which serves nearly same purpose as deleting them.

You posted an article about Leroy.  As seen by this article’s date stamp, you’re not permitted to post an article until 1:20pm on the 18th.
Wendy Bugliari Added Aug 17, 2018 - 6:46pm
Autumn,
I really do not care that Leroy article was removed BUT what you just wrote makes absolutely NO sense.
That article is NOT published today and I made NO other attempt today but you're not permitting me to submit another?? until 1:20pm on the 18th.
Is that what you are writing or am I lacking comprehension?
Seriously asking as it happens at my age!
Thanks for your time and consideration once again,
~The Bug~

Bug,
Here we are again, you causing trouble and giving me a hard time and me taking tons of time dealing with you.  I think you know exactly what you did, but I'll address you like you're telling the truth.

If you publish an article in draft, it will assume the date you published it as the date it enters the site.  That is why your Leroy article hit the site too soon, you must have hit the publish button on an article you had placed on draft.

Bug, I just want to say that I find it difficult to wade through all that yelling. I couldnt really read your article.

Anyway, Im not into the goddess thing, I raised three girls and these goddesses fight all the time -still, now that they are supposed to be grownups.

Indubitably!

When do siblings not engage in battle, Mustafa?  Despite parents wishing it were otherwise, it's always....something.  LOL

Jeff,
re:"When do siblings not engage in battle, Mustafa? "

We were not permitted to do so.

Strangely it has developed into a life long habit of being able to enjoy each other despite not agreeing. We also were not allowed to "complain". It was about as fine a young life that I can imagine. Somehow, we failed to transmit it to the next generation. Oh Well.
