What does the Bible say about abortion?

When Chelsea Clinton made the statement, she thinks it’s “unchristian” to outlaw abortion, is either very naive or she is being deceived by Satan.

The Bible never specifically addresses the issue of abortion. However, there are numerous teachings in Scripture that make it abundantly clear what God’s view of abortion is.

Jeremiah 1:5 tells us - Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.

The Bible speaks of God’s active role in our creation and formation in the womb, which is seen in Psalm 139:13-16 -13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. 14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. 15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. 16 Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

The Bible prescribes the same penalty—death—for someone who causes the death of a baby in the womb as for someone who commits murder. This is seen in Exodus 21:22-25  - 22 “If people are fighting and hit a pregnant woman and she gives birth prematurely but there is no serious injury, the offender must be fined whatever the woman’s husband demands and the court allows. 23 But if there is serious injury, you are to take life for life, 24 eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, 25 burn for burn, wound for wound, bruise for bruise.

This clearly indicates that God considers a baby in the womb to be as human as a full-grown adult.

For the Christian, abortion is not a matter of a woman’s right to choose. It is a matter of the life or death of a human being made in God’s image, which is seen in Genesis 1:27 - 27 So God created mankind in his own image. And in Genesis 9:6 -  “Whoever sheds human blood, by humans shall their blood be shed; for in the image of God has God made mankind

Revenge of the God. In the Aztec world, bloodletting was rife in pleasing Gods. In India, they burn the shit out of women. In Afghanistan and more, they stoned the life out of sinners. America is the great satan in not letting the Bible dictated God words be executed.

Full stop. Shut the fuck up asshole. If the Bible didn't say it, then why the fuck are you? Stick to the script, or in your case, the scripture.

Who cares what an archaic Arab tribal document says about abortion? This is the 21st century. We're no longer living in a nomadic tribe wandering around in the desert.

The Bible appears to say abortion is wrong.

Early Christians of the Roman period, since it was legal to expose an infant if he / she was unwanted, often took abandoned babies and children and raised them according to Augustine and other ancient sources.

People consult sources of new or ancient origins for answers to difficult questions all the time. Ancient teachers are consulted whether that be Buddha, Mohammed, or Socrates (Plato or Aristotle). Or Jesus or the Bible in general.

Those who imply it's foolish to consult highly respected sources for answers to difficult questions are not being fair at all. Everyone does this (and almost certainly so do they). Or to move it closer to the present, people quote "moral leaders" Gandhi or Martin Luther King or Lincoln frequently.

Aborting life means you're killing the baby, it's fundamentally wrong, but it's a personal moral decision and nobody else's business.

Dino an embryo is not a baby.

Absurd article. And FYI Satan isn't a deceiver, that would be the false Christian "god", Satan is a revealer of truth.

Is there an alter ego Micheal B here who behaves in the manner evidenced by the preceding and another who narrates in a kindlier gentler manner? Are there individuals here who have personal knowledge of each other to the extent they can share insults in said manner? If not, is it that familiarity on WB breeds contempt for fellow writers, some whom some of us would never associate with in real life? Certainly, I would disassociate myself in the physical realm from anyone who consistently behaves in such a manner.

Note, when one delivers a rhetorical tap on the knuckles, it is not a mangling of orthography, etymology, syntax, or prosody--the construct of grammar. So, do not use that excuse as a response. Somehow as I enjoy delivering a rhetorical beatdown to some here, in contrast, you appear in the realm of salvageability and not deserving of same.  Having been advised that children who lack the command of grammar to respond use abusive and nasty language, please generate a clear and cogent response to me.  Ps, have you noted the change in the dynamic of WB since Ryan's departure? Also, " FUCK YOU GREEN" will not suffice because my usage negates any shock value.

I’ve seen a lot in my life, and experience has shown me the use of profanity typically boils down to an individual being guilty of having one or more of the following flaws:

Lack of Intelligence: The English language offers us the choice of so many wonderful adjectives, analogies, abilities to paint word pictures and to use a variety of other descriptors, such that there is no need to substitute with expletives. The insertion of a four letter word for “emphasis” usually only points out the speaker lacks command of his/her vocabulary. Nothing flashes “stupid” like the use of profanity. Don’t make the mistake of appearing to be uneducated if you’re not.

Laziness: We have all met bright people who swear. This usually means they either think they’re smarter than everyone else so people will put up with their use of profanity, or they have just fallen into a rut and are too lazy to work on improving their verbal communication skills. Either scenario is a negative label.

Poor Anger Management: People who are not quick on their feet, or do not possess adequate conflict resolution skills, often revert to profanity as a safety net of sorts. If all else fails, people who fall into this category resort to attempting to intimidate the other party with the use of profanity. People identified as having anger management issues typically don’t reach their full potential without learning better skills.

Insecurity: People who lack confidence in themselves and/or their abilities often try to bolster other people’s perception of them by using off-color language as an attempt to feign strength and power. Here’s a tip…it doesn’t work.

Bottom line…few things make an impact, or lack thereof, like the words you allow to flow from your lips. Regardless of your station in life, vocabulary absolutely matters.

"They sacrificed their sons and their daughters to demons, and they shed innocent blood, the blood of their sons and their daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan, desecrating the land with bloodshed" (Ps. 106: 35, 37-38)

Liberals who argue abortion is a sacrament, the ultimate right and personally liberating act for women, this verse definitely applies.
