I thought I would try something different here with this. Unless Autumn doesn't prefer this kind of a format on the site, and she can certainly cancel this if she would rather not something go in this direction.

There is certainly unprecedented interest in the 2018 midterm elections this year, and even for our international friends here, who seem quite engaged as if they had some skin in the game, too.

This election really isn't a democrat vs. republican race. It is truly about who we are. Do we want to be a constitutional republic and individual liberty, or do we want to be a European style socialist country.

November 6 truly could be the most important U.S. election in our lifetime (said every midterm, I know, but this one is potentially truly consequential that could determine the soul and direction of America for the foreseeable future.

I thought I would create this thread for people to free form comments throughout the next 24-48 hours to discuss the ramifications of the midterms, close races as they are called and what that might mean moving forward, and follow the elections, and maybe people in the community with enough interest will gather to chatter as the results come in and we see what the next 2 years may shape up to be.

My only ground rule will be - kept it civil. No personal attacks on people you disagree with , and I will leave all posts - even Mr. Mischka's, if he chooses to contribute without personal attacks.

Feel free to hop in and contribute, or just check news as there are a number of significant key races from DeSantis and Gillum as Gov of Florida to Nelson and Scott for Senator of Florida to Ga Governor, possible upset in NJ senate race as Mendez is fighting for his life after ethics violations, to numerous house races and it gets more interesting as we go west and more polls close.

Let me know what you think about this? I haven't seen anyone do anything like this here before, and don't know if people want to actively be checking in to site to see and discuss results in real time, or if this isn't really something people here really want to engage in.

An interesting experiment to see if people are interested/curious enough to want to participate.
