ESP

There has been an error code that is not only affecting certain computer operating systems, but seems to be highly infecting all media outlets, politicians and political discussions worldwide.

The media are particularly stumped by this anomaly, and are scrambling madly to try to find the root of the problem.  Part of the problem with the ESP is that they are actually part of the cause of it.

A worse problem has been the historic occurrence with wives, husbands, girlfriends, boyfriends and other lovers and friends.  Lately, this anomaly has even turned up in financial calculations, building calculations, construction efforts, and even rescue incidents.

Now, believe it or not, this is not to be confused with the well known ESP, or "Extra Sensory Perception", but a far more drastic event that has also been called indirectly "Big Brother Watching."  Worse yet, some people have accused some systems such as Alexa being infected with ESP, predicting both accurately and inaccurately events and information that could, and sometimes does effect outcomes of plans and procedures.

Now, this article cannot be long at all, or there will be a serious problem with ESP:  That being that someone with a type of ESP might discern what this is all about.  And I'd hate to be called out on this for broadcasting doubt on anyone's particular censorial skills.

For example, my tax adjuster had gone over my records, and as much as he tried, he could find no problems over the past ten years of my records, but obviously, he was looking for something, because I did overhear him mutter to himself, "ESP!  There must be ESP here!"

When I asked what ESP he was referencing, he said that he couldn't find it, but there had to be an error someplace, or he couldn't face going back to the office.

I get it now:  ESP equals "Error Some Place".

Better hide before the media, government and/or your spouse gets you!

There is no category that I could file this under, because writing this stuff simply does not come under any known category at Writer Beat.  Maybe it is a new one.

That ESP has resulted in tragic outcomes. Imagine if you are a lumpen and IRS issues an ESP on you. Without money for a lawyer, you could be doomed. I am the victim of such smart or dumb technology in that I have been rejected because a device predicted my words and change it to what it thought I meant.

We all make errors, the media included. It’s human nature to make errors. It’s when we intentionally make errors and pass it off as error free that the problem with the media is a concern. The good news is that we have thousands of media outlets to choose from, so errors aren't that hard to detect.

SK-
Nicely written article, especially the technique of hiding the real meaning until near the end, to capture attention and keep it.

Johnny-
i agree.  Most recently, the CNN/MSM narrative has been to deny that a "caravan" of migrants even exists, calling it "imaginary" or minimizing the threat they pose.

They're going to have a hard time "'splainin'" what is happening NOW, what with not only protesters, but the MAYOR of Tijuana saying that Trump was right, that they ARE invaders and need to return to their homes.

Unfortunately, we also have "confirmation bias," so our inclinations, generally speaking, is to find sources that agree with OUR opinions, and ignore any which do not.

For me, if i consider a particular point to have grave importance, i'll search out at least 3 completely unrelated websites, and check to see if they also have links to support the opinion i wish to promote; otherwise, i'll qualify my answer as my opinion alone, especially if i don't consider the point to be anything other than minor, like about who wrote what song or whatever.  As long as i hew closely to the Truth, i'll be fine, i expect, even if no one else believes me.
