Highly Controversial Facts and Statistics About America

My Recent Posts

The vast majority of the American people are living in denial about the moral decline of its society. This includes the vast majority of political candidates and people currently in office. Most people in America do not want to be confronted with the truth about America and its moral decline, because they are contributing to it.

Most people tend to believe that we can “fix this country” by getting the right politicians into power or by implementing certain economic or social reforms. But the reality of the matter is that our problems go far deeper than that. A moral collapse is eating away at the foundations of our society like cancer. If it continues to go unchecked, it will inevitably destroy America. Unfortunately, fixing moral decay is far more difficult than switching out political parties, because it is in the hearts of hundreds of millions of individual Americans. And most people don’t want to hear anything about a “moral collapse”, because most people like to think that the United States is setting a “good example” for the rest of the planet. But as you will see below, that is not the case at all.

And if we are honest with ourselves, we see the evidence of this moral collapse all around us every day. Just consider a few of the news stories that we have seen recently. As a society, we are decaying from the inside out, and we need to start facing the truth if we are ever going to get this turned around. The following are some facts about the moral collapse of America that are almost too crazy to believe.

  • Approximately one-third of the entire population of the United States (110 million people) currently has a sexually transmitted disease according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
  • Every single year, there are 20 million new STD cases in America.
  • America has the highest STD infection rate in the entire industrialized world.
  • The United States has the highest teen pregnancy rate in the entire industrialized world.
  • According to a study conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, approximately two-thirds of all Americans in the 15 to 24-year-old age bracket have engaged in oral sex.
  • According to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, there are 7,859,500 registered sex offenders in the United States.
  • 18 percent of all women in the United States say that they have been raped at some point in their lives.
  • It is estimated that one out of every four girls will be sexually abused before they become adults.
  • 70 percent of all men in the 18 to 24-year-old age bracket visit at least one adult website each month.
  • It has been estimated that 89 percent of all pornography is produced in the United States.
  • In the United States today, more than half of all couples “move in together” before they get married.
  • America has the highest divorce rate in the world by a good margin.
  • For women under the age of 30 in the United States, more than half of all babies are being born out of wedlock.
  • Approximately one out of every three children in the United States lives in a home without a father.
  • In a massacre that is almost unspeakable, more than 6o million American babies have been slaughtered in this country since Roe versus Wade was decided in 1973.
  • Approximately 47 percent of the women that get an abortion each year in the United States have also had a previous abortion.
  • One very shocking study found that 86 percent of all abortions are done for the sake of convenience.
  • Some abortion clinics have been caught selling aborted baby parts to medical researchers.
  • America has the highest incarceration rate and the largest total prison population in the entire world by a wide margin.
  • In America today, there are 60 million people that abuse alcohol and there are 22 million people that use illegal drugs.
  • Incredibly, more than 11 percent of all Americans that are 12 years of age or older admit that they have driven home under the influence of alcohol at least once during the past year.
  • Right now, there are 70 million Americans that are on mind-altering drugs of one form or another.
  • America has the highest rate of illegal drug use on the entire planet.
  • It is hard to believe, but 56 percent of all Americans now have “subprime credit”.
  • Back in 1962, only 13 percent of all Americans were obese, but it is being projected that 42 percent of all Americans could be obese by the year 2030.
  • One study discovered that 88 percent of all Americans from age 8 to age 18 play video games, and that approximately four times as many boys are addicted to video games as girls are.
  • There are more than 3 million reports of child abuse in the United States every single year.
  • 73 percent of the religiously unaffiliated support gay marriage and 72 percent of the religiously unaffiliated support legalized abortion.
  • It is being projected that the percentage of Americans attending church in 2050 will be about half of what it is today.
  • According to LifeWay Research, 50 percent of all Americans never even think about whether they will go to heaven or not.

Now after reading only this small example of the moral decline in the America's society, do you still believe this is not a major problem?

Good morals and values are always needed to make good policies!

You are absolutely correct on your statement that good morals and values are always needed to make good policies! Without these, we get many unwise decisions in both the private and public arena. Particularly in the political arena where  one party wants to keep on deteriorated values, while the other is trying to maintain and improve them.

When the moral rules of civil society are tossed aside, as we see in America today, brutality, plunder, and tyranny eventually comes in. The moral standards that each individual decides for his share determine a civil society or a barbarian society

Failure of individual ethics is beautifully illustrated in William Golding's novel Lord of the Flies. The author says of his work: The theme is an attempt to trace the defects of society back to the defects of human nature. The moral is that the shape of a society must depend on the ethical nature of the individual and not on any political system however apparently logical or respectable.

Individuals who reject existing moral standards without a plausible replacement end up with a defective society. A society with thoughtfully derived, realistic moral standards will not decline into barbarism. The influence of this anti-rules generation have spread throughout society, the universities, the media, the entertainment industry, and the courts. From these positions, they pressure the rest of us to not only tolerate, but give legitimacy to whatever they want to do, even behaviors we find repugnant or immoral.

Great post, Marty.  Fascinating raw data.  This destroys the leftist myth that technology and science has made us this wonderful paradise.  Technology and science, when not harnessed with godliness, ALWAYS tend to destruction.

Even Lyin Ryan's new blow job buddy, Moggy  wonder why fundementalists like Marty are spit on.  Even ol Moggy has a minor problem with damning every one.  Ryan won't like it, Mogster. Why your churches need to be torn down, your bibles burned, and a lot of so-called Xtains forced to hold their legs togeter because we're short on nails.  Can't wait for a new D president to outlaw Xtainity, replacing it with Islam and Sharia law.  Heck, they catch you being an Xtain, they'll leave your hands on, but cut off your head.  Sounds good to me.

Your statistics, Marty, like most statistical presentations presents your argument nicely, but are they just observations and not truth's?

I happen to agree with your premises and am concerned about how to redirect perceptions tocreturn to a small that accepts personal responsibility for the consequences of actions.

I see our schools and the liberal slants that our schools have adopted over the past six decades as central to the problem.  We have rachets who are taught only the mechanics of teaching, not the subject matters of their courses.  We see struggling students allowed to move with their age groups even though they have lagged far behind their peers.  Disruptive students can't be disciplined for fear of accusations of racism or sexism.  Teachers are rewarded on length of service rather than the success of their students.  Administrators are not held to account for the failures of their students bodies to learn.  Parents...when they are around or not making other kids who will live in greater poverty...no longer care about education because they, themselves, are the products of broken families and failing schools.  Schools are dismissing the very fine Western European literature, a body of work that passes along the western traditions of knowledge, ethics, effort, and responsibility on the ground that they were written by last century's old white men who knew nothing of the human condition.  (That both Shakespeare and Dickens were superb chronicler of their day is I; they were both successful and white, do they must have nothing to say.

I was fortunate to attend fine private schools for my entire educational life.  We studied the classics.  We wrote paper whose offerings often received drawings of snorting bulls in the margins for the usual BS, and concentric rings inbred ink on our punctuation errors.  ("Fish" Maillet was a firm believer in the Oxford comma as a means of avoiding ambiguity.). We learned to read, assess, and comment intelligently on what we read.  My Latin courses reinforced my phonetic spelling strengths, and allowed  me to make connections to Latin for those words where I did not know the meanings and a dictionary wasn't handy.

With the removal of the humanities from the student's world, I feet it may be more than a few generations before we recover that which has been lost.  And, it might require a revolutionary event tto put us back on the right track.,,

People at the very least should be aware of mathematical figures associated with divorce rates.  The prevalence of divorce condemns millions of children to broken homes.

BTW.  The term, "broken home," is no longer socially acceptable.

I'm not sure that denial is the best word.  But it is close enough.

I would say that Americans have become inured to a society without morals.  They simply do not care.  It's a me first kind of thing.  Maybe we deserve an self-serving idiot like DJT for our president.

I agree that humankind needs to follow their own consciences and this creates a range of morality. The conscience is the inner voice of God within each person. It is the self-reflecting, judicial power in people by which God can call every man or woman to account. If we are absolutely honest with ourselves, our conscience will let us know what we are really like, passing perfect judgment on our state before God.

Unfortunately there are many people in this world that ignore their conscience or are sociopaths, with complete lack of conscience, lack of empathy, remorse, guilt or shame. These people think only of themselves, and if they seem to be helpful this is usually because they have their own agenda to achieve. If they want something, they will make sure that they obtain what they want by using whatever means they needs to. These are the people who believe murder, rape, torturing, stealing, verbally and physically abusing others, etc. are normal and moral behaviors.

Many people need to be reminded of what is right and moral or what is wrong and immoral. It is the duty of parents to reinforce these into their children so they follow their own consciences and live a moral life

Marty, you wrote a good post. I'm not certain that the causes listed in some of the comments are actually causes of the change in morality, but one anecdotal thing I would add, especially with your last reply to Mogg about many people.

There is no better example of the moral decline than the fact that the Evangelical Christian community would vote for someone who exemplifies what you decry in your last post. They defend their choice by saying that God often uses the unholy to accomplish holy goals. That is a perversion of the reading of the Bible, in my opinion, and it shows the extent to which those who proclaim to follow biblical teachings are willing to deny their beliefs in order to gain a few crumbs at the hands of a monster.
Doug Plumb Added Jan 31, 2019 - 11:52am
E Michael Jones says that the society ethic is policed by shame and guilt. Shame is what we feel when someone else sees us do wrong. Guilt is what we feel about it personally. Its also cultural and these foreign statutory religions have adherents that do not feel guilt. Under pure materialism, guilt is impossible. Guilt and shame manage our actions so that they fit in with and do not harm others in society.

The points I presented are facts that are collecting by various government agencies or by independent companies.

You are correct that school administrators and teachers are over whelming liberal. There are conservative teachers, but they represent a small majority in this field. Even though teachers should not present their political and moral views to students, through their actions and words they are sending messages to their students.

Many people disagree with this position, but I believe when prayer in 1962, the Bible in 1963 and the ten commandments in 1980 were taken out of public schools, this accelerated the moral decline not only with students, but with adults.

In America, all of the political leaders we have to choose to put in office are sinners. During the 2016 presidential race, people had the choice to vote for Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump, Jill Stein Gary Johnson, who are also sinners just myself and you.

Hillary Clinton supported abortion on demand, same sex marriage, legalizing mind altering drugs, not supporting Christian values etc. that goes directly against the moral teachings of the Bible. Hillary Clinton made a promise of appointment of liberals to federal judgeships. Thereby accelerating the liberal agenda of pushing God further out of society, continuing the moral decay.

Donald Trump, being a sinner doing things that are immoral such as adultery and being unfaithful in marriage, did not support abortion, same sex marriage and legalizing certain drugs. Donald Trump made a promise of appointment of conservatives to federal judgeships. Christians believed these judges will make decisions that further their evangelical agenda, including the restriction of abortion rights

If the Christian's did not vote or voted for the third party candidates like Jill Stein and Gary Johnson; Hillary Clinton would be President today. Instead of the Supreme court being 5 conservative judges and 4 liberal judges, it would be 6 liberal judges and 3 conservative judges.

Keep in mind that all the key people of the Bible had serious flaws and that’s all God had to work with. All the perfect people are in heaven. The only ones on earth are the folks with serious weaknesses. The talent pool has always been pretty thin when it comes to moral perfection. So God works with sinners because that’s all he has to work with. In heaven we will all be vastly improved–perfected by God’s grace. But until then, he uses some pretty ornery people who fall short in many ways–and he does some amazing things through them.

Consider the roll call of God’s imperfect heroes:

Noah who got drunk.
Abraham who lied about his wife.
Jacob who was a deceiver.
Moses who murdered an Egyptian.
Rahab who was a harlot.
Samson who had serious problems with lust and anger.
David who was an adulterer.
Peter who denied Christ.
Saul before he became Paul was persecuting and killing the believers in Christ.

Apostle Paul even stated that he was the worst of the sinners, which is seen in 1 Timothy 1:15 - 15 Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst.

Apostle Paul also became the greatest evangelist that ever existed. This one sinner, spread the good news about Jesus Christ throughout the middle east and Europe within a few years of his conversion.

Yes Donald Trump is a sinner, just like every person that has lived, or is currently living, and yet to live.

Donald Trump doesn't have a heart for God.  There is no love there that is discernible to any another person.  King David loved God and prayed for salvation every day.

It's all a big lie.  A deal with the devil, if you will.

Phrases like “vast majority” need statistical support, otherwise they are just opinions.  In my opinion, people believe society is in moral decline.  The truth is that if they looked at society of today and compared it to society of the past, there are no measurable differences in our relative morality.  However, if you had some data to support your assertions, I might be inclined to change my opinion.

Great raw data. Unfortunately, the regimes where more of the type of violations you cite do not supply raw data of their atrocities, they like for you to use your imagination.

In my article I gave over 25 facts and statistics that clearly shows that America has a morality problem. Like an alcoholic or drug addict, if you do not admit you have a problem, you will never realize you have a serious sickness or problem.

The facts that were given shows that America has a serious morality problem. People need to open their eyes and accept the fact that our society needs to improve on its morality. When America has the highest STD infection rate in the entire industrialized world; and the  highest teen pregnancy rate in the entire industrialized world, we have a morality problem.

Usually when people or countries want to be rated the highest in some measurement, you would expect it to be something more moral and positive such as: Longest living life, lowest drug related deaths, lowest incarceration rate, lowest percentage of women that get an abortion each year, lowest divorce rate, lowest teen pregnancy rate, etc.

You are correct there are a number of countries throughout the world that do not publish statistical data on their people and internal affairs. That is why I used the term in the industrialized world for comparisons.

When you want to be best in class, you measure yourself against the best in class people or countries. You do not want to measure yourself against non productive people or a country like North Korea. If you did, it would give you a very false reading on yourself  or the country really is. It definitely would not be Best in Class.

People have a complete and total misunderstanding of the very concept of freedom itself. Freedom is only manifest in the moral domain. When you cave into bodily desires, you are not free, you are merely a slave to nature. Freedom is what happens when we rise above nature. Many of the wise men have said that this is the key to true happiness, and it has nothing to do with pleasure.
Christianity and other religions view freedom as this way. Judaism views freedom as a capitulation to nature and this is un-Godly and the religion is that of Lucifer, the God of this world.
Unhappy people create misery, and not rising above nature can never lead to true happiness.
This is the philosophy of happy, wealthy and comfortable classes of people. You will never convince me that this dope dealing paedophile class is actually happy. They probably hate themselves and use money / matter / sex to mitigate their internal pain.

Virtues allow us to feel that we deserve the good things in life when they come.

You are absolutely correct on your assessment of virtues. By having virtues or positive character traits, people are committed to doing the right thing no matter what the personal cost,. They do not bend to impulses, urges or desires, but acts according to values and principles. Virtues need to be cultivated to become more prevalent and habitual in daily life. With the habit of being more virtuous, we take the helm of our own life, redirecting its course towards greater fulfillment, peace and joy.
